You may have noticed recently that I have added some icons (to this site) for things like Coupons.com and Upromise.com. I would like to try to improve this site and have some great ideas for helping make your shopping trips easier, but I do not have the technical know-how to make these things happen without professional assistance.
In order to help build a fund to make these changes, I have signed up for a commission based program for these and a few other external links. I signed up to hopefully "earn" a little pocket change to make these improvements happen. I would love to see some of these ideas put to good use. What I DO NOT want to do is turn this site into an advertisement board - I will only join onto commissionable links that are useful to us and related to the content here.
I am hoping that anytime you need to print from Coupons.com you will do so through the links here rather than elsewhere. Signing up for their e-mail newsletter is also a commissionable task (hint, hint). :-)
Upromise is a wonderful program and is very low maintenance once you are signed up - there's no better time than right now to get started!
Thanks for "paying it forward" and using these links - I hope to return the favor by making changes so that this is your "go-to" site for all things frugal!

Upromise

When our son was just a couple months old I signed up for UPromise. It's very easy to do and after the initial sign up, it's a very "low maintenance" way to save money. In over 5 years we have accumulated right around $1100.00 in his account. That's a lot of change for basically doing nothing. To read in detail about UPromise and all of the wonderful offers they have go here.
When you sign up you link all of your shopping cards and credit cards to your account. When you make purchases on qualifying products or with participating merchants using those cards you earn cash back into your account. UPromise also offers electronic coupons you can load to your shopping cards and when you purchase those particular products, the value of the coupon is deposited in your account.
You can invite family or friends to join and help you save even more - grandparents love doing things like this!
Even if you don't have children you can still join UPromise. You can save toward your own education if you are a student, you can pay off student loans with the earnings, or you can just put it in a savings account. UPromise allows you to withdraw money at anytime, you just have to fill out a form and request a check, no strings attached.

Getting Started: Electronic Coupons
There are several websites that you can access to load electronic coupons to your store shopping cards. You can do this by signing up at the website and registering your cards. Then you can browse the coupons available to load to your card. Once you make your selections, these coupons link to your shopping card and when you make your purchase of these items using your shopping card, the coupon automatically comes off at the register - no clipping necessary. The great thing about using electronic coupons is that you can also use clipped or printed manufacturer or store coupons on those same items really reducing your out of pocket. It's about the only time I can think of that you can actually use TWO manufacturer coupons on one item.
