Walgreens Money Maker 1/17-1/24

Here's a great Walgreens money maker that doesn't involve RR's.  This week (1/17-1/24) the Aviva Accu-Check Blood Glucose system is on sale for $9.99.  In the 11/8 SS there's a coupon to save "up to" $10.00 on one meter; the coupon will beep at the register and prompt the cashier to enter the value of the meter ($9.99).  After handing over your manufacturer coupons for your transaction, you will want to have the cashier scan the Walgreens coupon for $5.00 off Aviva by Accu-Check from the  Diabetes & You - Holiday 2009/Winter 2010 coupon booklet found in the pharmacy area.

Having both the manufacturer and store coupon scanned results in a $5 MM deal.  If you have more than one of the 11/8 SS coupons you could make this an even better deal.  You can purchase more than one meter in a transaction and the Walgreens coupon will take off $5 for each meter in your transaction.  Make sure you have at least $5 (or $10, $15, etc) in other mechandise (after coupons) in your cart to use up this overage.  It doesn't happen too often at Walgreens that we get a MM without a RR involved!

So far, I have not been able to work this deal because my store has been out of these meters.  I checked again today but no luck.  They tell me they might be in today's or tomorrow's shipment, but I am thinking that I may need to go on a Walgreens road trip.   If you don't find them on the shelf by the other meters, make sure to ask at the pharmacy - they always have extra monitors behind the counter.

Now, if you are not able to get any meters this week to take advantage of this deal, on 1/31 you will have another opportunity to also make this a MM but with a RR involved.  On 1/31 the meters go on sale for $14.99 and will produce a $5.00 RR.  Use the two coupons noted above to get the meter for free with $5.01 in overage.  You will have to have a "filler" to use up the .01 overage on the transaction and then you will receive a $5 RR.  You can only do this deal on 1/31 though because the manufacturer coupon expires on 1/31/2010.

Good Luck finding these meters and remember, if you don't actually use the meters yourself, you can give them away to someone in need.
