Walgreens 5/30 - 6/5

Wow!  I was surprised at all the freebies and money makers at Walgreens this week!  I suspected that it would be a dull week just because of the Memorial Day holiday.  I was pleasantly surprised to get some great deals this morning.  Here's what I bought.  (sorry, no photos this time!)

Reach toothbrushes and floss on sale for .99
Sign up for a $1.00 off Reach coupon here and get these FREE with .01 of overage. (there are also MANY coupons from past inserts that you can find at CouponTom just by searching "REACH")

Aquafresh Kids toothpaste, .99 with in ad coupon
Sign up for a $1.00 off Kids Aquafresh coupon here and get these FREE with .01 overage.

Ecotrin, $2.00 with a $2 RR in return
Sign up for a $2.00 off Ecotrin coupon here or use the $2.00 off coupon from the 5/16 RP for a $2.00 MM!!

U by Kotex tampons, liners and pads, $3.49 with a $2.50 RR in return
Get a $1.00 off U by Kotex coupon here or use the various product coupons in the 4/18 S, 5/16 S or May AY to get these FREE with .01 overage after the RR.

Walgreens brand A to Z select multivitamins, $2.00 with a $2 RR in return.  This makes an awesome filler to use some RR's from a previous week.  I love to use items for fillers that end up being FREE after RR's

I did three various transactions with these items and when I did I received all my RR's and some that I wasn't expecting.  For two of the transactions I received Catalina coupons for FREE Always products (probably because I was purchasing U by Kotex).  I received a FREE Always Liners Catalina and a FREE Ultra or Maxi pads Catalina as well.  That was a nice surprise!  I also received a $1.50 Catalina coupon off my next purchase of Playtex Gentle Glide products and a $1.50 Catalina off my next Scrubbing Bubbles purchase.  NICE!!

More Cheap Legos!

I stopped in over at Target on E. State Street (Rockford, IL) this afternoon to get some of the cheap Legos that I mentioned here and I was pleasantly surprised to find ANOTHER Legos deal on the shelf waiting for me!

The Star Wars Echo Base set is also on sale this week for $15 BUT the E. State Store was all sold out of that set, so they had a sign up on the shelf that stated that since they were out of stock of the Star Wars set, they were offering the Toy Story 3 Lotso's Dump Truck for $12 for the inconvenience.

It just so happens that my son loves anything Toy Story and the $3 coupon also included this Toy Story set.  According to the Lego website this set retails for $19.99 but with the unadvertised sale and the $3 Target store coupon you can grab this set for just $9!  Anyone who is familiar with Legos knows that this is a great price for this set.

I am sure this unadvertised price is hit or miss at other stores depending on if the Star Wars set is sold out, but you can always call ahead of time and ask before making a trip just for this.  The Rockford store had plenty of boxes of the Toy Story set on the shelf (and I grabbed the last City Fire Truck that was on the shelf - phew!).

I was so glad that I had an extra $3 coupon with me when I went so I could grab this great deal on these!  Make sure you print extras to bring along.  There was also a home mailer that some of you may have gotten that had the $3 Lego Target store coupon in so check your coupons for it.

Kraft "Cheesy Deal" Game & Coupons

Go here to play the "Cheesy Deal" Kraft spin game.  As you rack up points you can redeem them for coupons.  If you choose the boxed Mac 'n Cheese coupon you will get to print a .55 off TWO coupon, and if you go back to the game and hit the "Get Coupon" button again you will be able to print it twice.

There's also a coupon for the Mac 'n Cheese cups and the new Homestyle Mac 'n Cheese.  Hold onto these until you find a great sale to pair them with, the coupons I printed today don't expire until 6/26/10.

National Consumer Panel (NCP)

Are you interested in being rewarded for shopping?  Sounds great, doesn't it?  There's a no-cost program that I found through National Consumer Panel that does just that.  You sign up with NCP and then they will send you a hand held scanner.  All you have to do is scan the bar codes of all of your purchases after you shop and then upload your purchase information to them once a week.

This program is designed to monitor consumer habits and behavior.  Manufacturers and retailers will look at the information you send in to decide what products to make and sell to consumers all across the country.

I thought this would be a great way for couponers to get even more bang for their buck, and show the manufacturers that not all shoppers are your "typical" shopper, our shopping "behaviors" could help shape future couponing offers - you never know!

If you are interested and want to learn more about this program you can access their website here.   If you sign up, come back and let me know what you think of the program - I love to hear your feedback!

Jewel 5/27 - 6/3

I didn't get my Jewel ad on Tuesday this week like I normally do so I feel a little "out of the loop" so to speak!  There are couple new Catalina promos starting at Jewel the week of 5/27 - 6/3.

There is a Kraft Catalina promo starting 5/27 that is spend $25 in participating products and get a $5 Catalina OYNO.  I have the UPC list of participating products courtesy of CW so if you need it just send me a note and I will get it to you.  (if you were able to grab some of those $1.00 off Capri Sun Sunrise manufacturer coupons taped to the shelves at Woodmans this would be a great sale to use them on!)

There is also a June Dairy Month Catalina promo starting 5/30 that may have some double dip products with the Kraft promo.  This promo runs until 7/1 so we may see more double dips with these products over the next month.  With this one you buy 5 participating products and receive a Catalina for $5 OYNO.  Some of the participating products are: 8th Continent, All Whites, Borden, Organic Valley, Kraft Philadelphia Cheese, Kraft Singles, Daisy, Florida's Naturals, Land O'Lakes, Sargento Cheese, Yoplait, Almond Breeze, Bailey's Coffee Creamer, and Welch's.  If you need the UPC list for this promo let me know, this one is also available thanks to CW.

Cheap Legos at Target

If you know a Lego fan this would be a GREAT deal to jump on!  Right now (this week) at Target the Lego City Fire Truck (ages 5-12) is on sale for $15.  This is a great price to begin with since the Lego website sells this same set for $22.99.  If you go over to the Target printable coupons you can print out a store coupon for $3 off Lego which includes this Fire Truck set!  $12 for this set is probably about as low as it goes!

A huge Thanks to my frugal friend Dawn for alerting me to this deal while she is on vacation in Florida!  Now that is a dedicated frugal friend!  :)  Thanks Dawn!

Graveyardmall Deal of the Day - Men's Sunglasses!

If the man (or men) in your life need new shades this is an awesome deal.  The "Deal of the Day" over at Graveyard Mall is 10 pairs of men's high end sunglasses for $29.99 (plus shipping).  With shipping that comes out to $3.60 a pair!  WOW!

The advertisement states that these are not the everyday drugstore sunglasses,  they are department store sunglasses with a retail value of $365.   Just go here to see more info on this deal.  Click on "Show me the Deal" to find these quickly.  These might make a nice Father's Day gift!

I ordered the ladies sunglasses from Graveyardmall and I love them!  The shipping was fast and the quality of the sunglasses was excellent.   If you order these I would love to hear your feedback on your experience.

5/24 Wags Shopping Trip (Money Maker!)

Here's a couple money makers at Walgreens for this week:

Total profit: $4.18

In order to do this I had two identical transactions like this:

1 Complete Multi contact lens solution=$7.99
2 Noxzema bikini shavers=$2.99 each/$5.98
1 Goody clasp barrettes=$2.99

Total: $16.96
Tax: .94

Minus:
$2.99 for B1G1 sale on Noxzema shavers
1 $2.00 off Complete Multi 5/16 RP
2 $2.00 off Noxzema shavers 5/23 RP or redplum.com printable
1 $4.50 RR from previous week Gillette/Old Spice deal

Total OOP: $4.41

Received back an $8 RR on the Complete Multi and a $3 RR on the Goody barrettes.

(The $4.50 RR that I used to pay with is just like cash since I paid $4.50 for the body wash to get that RR - to me it's the same as cash when figuring my "profit".)

FREE Herbal Essences Gel @ Target

If you are planning a trip to Target soon, clip the $1.00 off Clairol Herbal Essences Shampoo, Conditioner or Styler coupon from the 5/16 RP (expires 6/30) and bring it with you.  Over in the travel/trial area they have small tubes of styling gel for .97.  If you pick the cashier right, you may even get a little overage with this one!

I checked for these products at my local Walmart in the travel/trial area but I didn't find any there.

Samples and Coupons with my Local Newspaper

This is why I still keep my local newspaper subscription:

Even though I have two subscriptions to the Chicago Tribune, solely for the coupon inserts, I still keep my subscription to my local county paper.  It's a small paper with local news and it does have coupon inserts on Sundays.  It doesn't always have the best coupon inserts like the Tribune, but it still has the inserts with good coupons and lately I have been getting goodies in my bag with the paper.  Every couple of weeks I get a new sample of products and extra coupons.  This is what I received this week, and a couple weeks back it was a full pot of coffee sample with coupons.  I guess this makes up for not getting the "good" coupon inserts!  :)

Graveyardmall Deal of the Day - TOYS!!

Graveyardmall has some really nice toys on closeout with an additional 25% off for early ordering.  Go here and click on "Show me the Deal" to check out some of these toys.  I spotted Melissa and Doug toys at about 50-70% of the retail price.  If you place an order make sure you use code: preordertoys25 to get an additional 25% off.  Some of these items would be great to stock up on for birthdays or Christmas.

Frugal Freezer Tip

Did you know that cardboard doesn't freeze?  If you store products in your freezer in cardboard boxes the freezer works harder and uses more electricity because it is constantly trying to freeze something that won't freeze.  When possible you should remove items from cardboard boxes and freeze them in plastic packaging.  It will help your freezer work better and use less electricity, saving you money!  It also saves on space for when a really good deal comes along! :)

KC Masterpiece $1.00 Printable

I found this $1.00 off KC Masterpiece, Hidden Valley Ranch or Glad Food Storage product coupon over at MoneySavingMadness.  Use this coupon for .09 BBQ sauce that I mentioned here at Woodman's.  Almost FREE BBQ sauce just in time for grilling season!  If you miss out on this one, don't fret...there will be plenty BBQ sauce deals coming up!

5/23/10 Coupon Preview

Check out the coupons that will be in tomorrow's inserts right here.  It looks like we will be getting TWO inserts.  The coupons you receive may be slightly different from what is listed due to regional differences.

Kroger - Hilander 5/20 (Cheap Huggies diapers & wipes!)

My frugal friend Tara is getting to be the Kroger (Hilander) expert, she finds some great deals at our local Kroger store affiliate, which is Hilander

Tara reported a great Huggies deal and some scenarios that worked out perfectly for her.

Here's the sale: Save $3 Instantly at Checkout When You Purchase $15 Worth of Huggies Products (mix & match, limit 1 per transaction, valid through 6/6)

Tara highlighted these scenarios:

Buy 4 Huggies Wipes (tubs) at $1.99/ea = $7.96
Buy 1 Huggies Diapers Jumbo Pack at $8.99/ea = $8.99
Use 2 – $2/2 Huggies Baby Wipes 64ct +
Use 1 – $3/1 Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers or $3/1 Huggies Little Movers or Little Snugglers Diapers

Pay $6.95 out of pocket after $3 reward! ($1.39/ea!)

or

Buy 2 diapers at $8.99/ea=17.98
Use 2 - $3/1 coupons

Pay $8.98 OOP after $3 reward - (THAT' S LIKE GETTING ONE FOR FREE!)

or a WIPES ONLY scenario:

Buy 8 wipes at $1.99 each=$15.92
use 4 - $2/2 coupons

Pay $4.92 OOP after $3 reward ($0.62 each!)

All the above mentioned printable coupons can be found at Coupons.com.  There's also an additional Huggies wipes coupon here through Facebook.  Remember to break your purchases out into multiple transactions because there is only one $3.00 reward per transaction.

Tara mentions that the Cherry Valley store is out of most varieties of wipes right now, but should have another shipment in for Monday.

She also noted some other great Hilander deals: .77 for a dozen eggs and .89 for Oscar Mayer bologna.

Thanks Tara!  We all appreciate you reporting on your finds!

Woodman's Finds 5/20

I made a stop over at Woodman's today, this is a store that I don't get to shop at too often.  One thing that I really love about Woodman's lately is that they are taping coupons right to the shelves in front of the products.  I was able to score some really great coupons there.  I am hanging onto them in hopes of a Catalina promo at Jewel to use them at!  Here's a few good deals with coupons I found today over at Woodman's.

KC Masterpiece is priced at just $1.09 per bottle (I forgot to check the end date!) so if you use the $1.00 coupon from the 5/9 S you get it for only .09 per bottle!

Next I noticed that the Marzetti dressing is on sale thru 6/1 for .99.  There are $1.00 off coupons in 3/21 S, 5/16 S and March AY (pg 92).  These coupons make this dressing FREE!  This dressing is in the aisle with the regular bottled dressings (this is not the refrigerated Marzetti dressing in the coolers).

Something else that I picked up that was a really good price was the Apple & Eve Fruitables.  These are priced at $2.59 so if you use the $1.00 off coupon from 3/21 S you can take home 8 juice boxes for $1.59 (.20 per juice box) - my son loves these, and so do I!  The Apple & Eve products are healthy and tasty!

There are various Marcal coupons that are going to expire 5/31 so I was able to use those up today.  The single rolls of toilet paper are priced at .79 so use the 4/25 S or 5/16 S coupons to get these FREE.   The Marcal napkins are $1.99 for a package of 250 napkins and if you use the $1.00 coupon mentioned above you can take these home for .99.  That's a great price for napkins that we go through like water in our house! There is also a $2.00 coupon for Marcal Small Steps bath tissue in the 4/25 S.  The 4 packs are less than $2.00 so those would be free, or you can get a 12 pack of double rolls for $3.29 after coupon.  That comes to .27 a roll which is a decent price for toilet paper.

The Yoplait Simply Go-gurt is priced at $2.09 a box so if you still have the printable (no longer available)  for $1.10 off any Simply Go-gurt you can take these home for .99 a box!

Lastly, if you have been searching for those 16-18 oz packages of Purina Kitten Chow to use up those FREE coupons from 5/2 S Woodman's has them for $1.79.  These are the 18 oz boxes of Kitten Chow.  If you don't use this, please consider getting it to donate to your local animal shelter - they are always in need!

Gillette ProGlide

If you signed up for the Gillette ProGlide that I mentioned here you should be getting it any day.  Mine came in the mail today with TWO high value coupons for refill cartridges and skin products.  This looks like a really nice razor.

Wal-mart Finds 5/20

I just wanted to let you know about a few good deals with coupons over at Wal-mart right now.

Today I took my sub-total from $92.78 down to $21.67 with coupons.  I had some necessities like milk and bananas and most of my items were the "usuals" such as FREE travel Tide packets, Schick razors, trial size Dove deodorants, On the Go First Aid Kit, Benadryl Itch Sticks, etc but there were a few others worth mentioning.

*White Cloud double roll 4 pack $2.00 - use $1.00 off White Cloud from June AY (pg 81) anytime toilet paper is .25 a roll or less it's a good deal in my opinion.

*Thomas Wheat and Honey English Muffins $2.24 - use $1.00 coupon for these from the March AY (pg 88)

*Huggies Pull-Ups Flushable Wipes $1.64 - use $1.00 off coupon from 5/16 S

*John Frieda (travel size) Hair Spray $1.47 - use $2.50 off printable from here.

*Blue Bunny Novelty Ice Cream Treat $1.00 - use .75 off coupon from June AY (pg 137)

*Nestle Pure Life 24 pk. bottled water $2.88 - use $1.00 off TWO coupon from 4/11RP

*Yo-Plus Yogurt 4 pk. $1.74 - use .55 peelie from package

ALL YOU Magazine - $1.67 per issue

I have scoped out a great deal for my blog readers!  You can go here and order 12 issues of ALL YOU magazine for $19.97.  This comes to $1.67 an issue.  I believe the regular newsstand price of this magazine is $2.49 per issue at Walmart. With Walmart's 10% magazine discount it comes to $2.24 an issue.   If you haven't signed up for ALL YOU yet, now is a great time to do it.  ALL YOU magazine is packed full of really great, high value coupons and pays for itself in no time.

Follow the link above, type in ALL YOU in the search and place your order - it's that easy!!

eCoupons.com

If you use the coupon trading website eCoupons.com you are going to want to use up most of your credits relatively soon.  I just received one of my orders over the past weekend and inside was this note:

"As of 7/1/10 eCoupons.com will be going all electronic.  Therefore, we will not be accepting new grocery coupons after 6/30/2010.  We will continue to process grocery coupon orders until there is no longer any inventory.  Please continue using eCoupons.com for your electronic coupon needs.  Thank you for your contributions."

Bummer!  I was REALLY liking eCoupons.com.  I sent them an e-mail asking exactly what that meant "going all electronic" but I have not yet received a response.  Do you know of any other coupon trading websites?  If you do I would love to hear about them!

Jewel 5/20 - 5/26

There's two good sales running at Jewel 5/20 - 5/26.

There is a Mix 'n Match - No Limit sale on items 10 for $10 and then you get the 11th item for FREE.  There's loads of products listed on this sale, and I have a UPC list for this one so if you need it please send me a note and I can e-mail it to you.

There's also a ConAgra Spend $25 get $10 OYNO Catalina promo.  This is a high value Catalina promo so hopefully we will see some good price spreads.  I have a UPC list for this promo also so I can send this one to you if you request it also.

I haven't checked the UPC lists closely, but by the looks of the ads it appears that some products MIGHT be participating in both of these promos which would mean a better deal.  Be sure to compare both UPC lists when you are shopping to get the most for your money!

Something else I noticed as part of this ad is that if you spend $50 or more in one transaction you will get a coupon for 10% OYNO.  At this point it's too early to tell if this coupon prints based on the pre-coupon total, or the post-coupon total.  If it prints immediately after you hit $50, that would be sweet!

CVS ECB's from Last Week's Meter Deal

My frugal friend Katie just sent me a note that I wanted to share with you.  Last week she did the Bayer meter deal at CVS for $15 ECB's.  When her ECB's printed, it only printed as $5 in ECB's.  The cashier forced an additional $10 in ECB's to print for her since it was supposed to be a total of $15 ECB's for the purchase of the meter.

Katie went today to redeem those ECB's on this weeks sale.  She was pleasantly surprised to find out that when she redeemed all her ECB's there was more than she expected!  Apparently what happened was, even though the original ECB printed out as $5, when it scanned the full $15 came off her total.

If you are a CVS shopper and still have these ECB's to redeem, make sure you have enough in your cart to use up the full $15 ECB even though it only shows $5.   Great deal, Katie!!

Diabetes & You Magazine @ Wags (coupons inside)

When you stop at Wags this week you will want to pick up this newest booklet.  I just noticed this morning that the new Diabetes & You booklet is out. It's summer 2010 and it has some sort of a tortilla/veggie meal on the front, with a photo of Billie Jean King. At my Wags it was at the front door in the same display holder that the weekly sale flyers and monthly coupon booklets are in. Sometimes it's also back by the pharmacy area.  Not many Q's in it, but a few:

*$2 manf. Q on Benefiber (good only at Wags)
*$1.00 manf. Q on Colgate Total (doesn't state only redeemable at Wags)
*$5 manf Q. on Neuragen PN (redeemable only at Wags)
*$2 manf. Q on any Walgreens by Ace Brand product
*$3 on any Lamisil product (good only at Wags)

and that's all...a big disappointment from some of the Q's we have seen in this booklet BUT if you need any of these products it's not so bad.  I would still grab one and hang onto it, we may see a MM deal on one of these products soon.  Most don't expire until the end of August or September.

General Mills UPC list for Jewel Catalina Promo

I wasn't able to get the UPC list for the Jewel General Mills Catalina promo running right now.  For some reason the list that was given by Jewel is not accurate so I am going to suggest that you only go by what is in the ad for this one, unless you are feeling lucky and want to give some products a try.  This is the first time this has happened in close to a year that I have been shopping Jewel so it's not the norm.  If you find that a certain product that is not in the ad works, post a comment so that others can benefit from the info.

$1.50 Dove deodorant/body mist coupon

I found another link to the $1.50 coupon for any Dove deodorant/body mist.  If you go here you should be able to print it again.  It states under the print area that it excludes trial size, but when the coupon actually prints it doesn't have any wording like that on it.  I printed the $1.50 Dove coupon I mentioned here and I was able to print this one also, so it's either a new link or the same link has been reset.  Give it a try!

5/16/10 Coupon Preview

Looks like there's 2 inserts in store for us tomorrow!  Check here to see what you can expect.  Inserts vary by region and newspaper so keep that in mind when you are getting a sneak peek.

Report Card: Graveyard Mall Sunglasses

In today's mail I received my sunglasses order from Graveyard Mall.  I think I give this purchase an A+!!

All the sunglasses were still tagged and individually wrapped in plastic bags.  They were tagged with price tags from CVS and Rite Aid with regular prices ranging from $17.99 to $29.99.  They are all brand names such as Revlon, Gloria Vanderbilt, Riviera, Velvet Eyeware, etc.  There was a nice selection of styles, and a mix of colors ranging from brown to black.  There were some wire framed shades and some plastic framed shades.  They range from plain casual to fancy with rhinestones.  Shipping was super fast since these shipped out on 5/12 and I received them today, 5/14.  I am really happy with my purchase!

I mainly use my sunglasses as a headband rather than shades, and since I don't NEED 10 pairs of sunglasses, I chose the 4 pairs that I like the most and I will put the rest of them in our upcoming garage sale.  If I price them just right I will be able to re-coup my money spent on them and have myself some FREE sunglasses!

I get the daily "Deal of the Day" e-mails from Graveyard Mall so the next time I see this come around I will post it in case you want to get yourself some new shades.  You can also browse around at Graveyard Mall by clicking the icon over on the right sidebar.  You can see the "Deal of the Day" right there on their site.

Rollbacks @ Wal-mart

I had to stop at Wal-mart this afternoon for a prescription, so while I waited for it I wandered around to check out some Rollbacks and grab some much needed milk and bananas.  I noticed two Rollbacks worth mentioning.

First, the 28oz cans of Bush beans are $1.48.  Since it's very rare to see coupons for these this is a pretty good price - they have been priced at $1.97 lately so I think this is probably as good as it's going to get for awhile for these beans.  We eat a lot of these at our house, especially during grilling season.

Second, I noticed the 24 oz bottles of Hunt's ketchup (sorry Dawn!) on Rollback to $1.00 a bottle.  We go through a lot of ketchup in our house and we are at the end of our last bottle so this is a decent price, if you are needing it.  Unfortunately there's no manufacturer coupons to match up to this Rollback.

Lastly, if you still have the McCormick coupon from the 4/25 RP, you can pick up the McCormick Grill Mates for .78 and use the coupon for a little bit of overage - just make sure to choose your cashier wisely on this one (by the way, the Mojito Lime Grill Mates makes a great marinade for chicken fajitas!).

Hilander/Kroger Old Spice Money Maker!

My frugal friend Tara sent me the info on this deal that she tried out today.  It turns out that it worked better than she had hoped, and all because she forgot to scan her Hilander Plus Card until after her items were scanned in the transaction.  Here's what Tara wrote:

Buy 2 Old Spice Deodorant and 2 Old Spice Body Wash (these are $3.50 each with your Plus Card)
Load coupons on your Hilander card for $3/2 Body Wash and $3/2 Deodorant.
Also use 2 coupons from P&G 5/2 for B1G1.
You'll also get $4 off instantly with the P&G deal there now.

SO...
2 Deodorants = $7.00
2 Body Washes = $7.00
minus $4.00 instant P&G
minus $6.00 Hilander card coupons
minus $3.50+$3.50 B1G1 coupons
=$3.00 OVERAGE!!!

When she rang up her items, she scanned her Plus card at the end of the transaction before giving coupons.  The B1G1 coupons actually came off at $3.73 rather than $3.50 for the Plus card price which ended up in an additional .23 per product in overage!!  If you work this deal you will end up in $3.92 in overage for each set of 4 you "buy".

Tara reports that this sale has been going on for the past week and is currently in the new sale flyer also, so it should be running for an additional week.  I wasn't able to get out and take advantage of this deal this week so I am so glad it's running for another week.   A BIG thanks to Tara for passing along this great MM - a tip that she got from a long distance cousin!

**Hilander is a Kroger affiliate store so it should work at ALL Kroger stores, not just Hilander!**

(also keep in mind that the Old Spice Body Wash will be FREE after RR's next week at Walgreens so if you miss out on this Kroger/Hilander deal you will have another chance starting 5/16-5/22 at Walgreens)

FREE Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor

The new Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor doesn't come out in stores until June 6th, but you can get your hands on a FREE one before it even hits the stores by heading over to the Gillette website and signing up!  I just signed up and the message told me it should be here within 8-9 days! (Courtesy of Common Sense With Money!)

ConAgra $1.50 off 4 Coupon Reset!

Dove Damage Therapy Daily Moisture Conditioner

Being a Dove Hair Ambassador has it's advantages - for me and for you!  Today I received this in the mail:

I have been using this conditioner for awhile now thanks to a past deal at Walgreens.  I really like it so I am glad that I received another free bottle of it.  This conditioner has a really nice, fresh fragrance to it.  It conditions my soft, fine hair really well without leaving it feeling heavy and weighted down.  It's weightless formula really works on limp hair.  I need all the help I can get in that area so I am glad this does the trick.

I have FIVE samples to hand out to my blog readers.  Enclosed in the sample packets are TWO samples of the Dove Hair Care Intensive Repair Formula conditioner and a $1.00 coupon on any one Dove Hair Care product (excluding trial sizes).  The coupon expires 8/31/10.

Leave a comment or send me an e-mail and these samples will go to the first five local readers to do so.  I will get your sample to you the next time I see you!  If you miss out on these samples you can still go to the Dove website here and request a sample to be mailed to you.

It is being reported over at CW that there's a Catalina promo coming up at Jewel from 5/20 thru 5/26 on Con Agra products again.  This time it's noted as being a "Spend $25 Get $10 OYNO".  This is one of the better Catalina Promos with the $10 OYNO being so generous.  Start clipping, ordering and trading for ConAgra coupons!!  I will let you know when I have the list.

Happy Mother's Day!

For the many moms (and grandma's) that read this blog to help their families make the most out of their budget, Happy Mother's Day!  Blessings on your day - may you be pampered, cherished and showered with love - you deserve it!

5/9/10 Coupon Preview

There's only one Smart Source insert scheduled for this Sunday's paper. :(  You would think since it's Mother's Day maybe they would give us some extras as a nice gift, but I guess they weren't thinking like that.  Go here to check out the list of what you can expect. Your inserts may vary slightly from this list, but it will give you a good idea of what's in store for us.

Walgreens Rewards Card

I had heard awhile ago that Walgreens would be starting to offer a rewards card, similar to CVS pharmacy.  If you check out this post over at iheartwags.com you can get most of the details about the card.  The card is not being tested in my area as of yet, but I did sign up to receive notification when it is so that I can start to try it and report back.  I think this card will mean limits to how many of the "free after RR's" deals that we can take advantage of at Walgreens.  Of course, we all know that there's ways around that too!!

FREE Oscar Mayer Lunch Meat @ Jewel

If you printed the $2.00 off Oscar Mayer lunch meat coupon from Facebook you should bring that over to Jewel.  There's select lunch meats on sale     2/$4.00 (sorry, I forgot to check the end date!).  Use the FB coupon to get these FREE!!  I picked up thin sliced bologna with my coupons.  I see some fried bologna sandwiches in my future!

Bring your list and check it twice!

For the first time in about 10 months of rolling Catalina's the "professional couponer" way at Jewel, my Catalina coupon did not print.  I was bummed!

I had checked and re-checked my figures like I always do and made sure my items met the $20 threshold but no Cat.  The problem was, I didn't check my UPC list.  I was buying the Vegetable Recipe Secrets Soup/Dip Mix that was pictured in the ad so I never checked the UPC list for it.  I wasn't being lazy, I just didn't think I needed to, since it was in the ad it was surely a participating product.  I ended up returning everything in that transaction with my tail between my legs.  If I knew it was my fault I wouldn't have returned the items and just chalked it up to a learning experience, but I was sure it wasn't.

It really bothered me all the way home and as soon as I arrived there I pulled out the UPC list...sure enough, the Recipe Secrets are not listed on the UPC list.  Make sure you are checking the UPC list for everything - even items that are pictured in the ad.  If it's not on the UPC list, be prepared to be disappointed!

Catalina may rectify this problem in a day or two, just like they did with the peanut butter on the last Con Agra Catalina promo, and then I will be able to get my dip.  That's usually what happens.  Just wanted to let you know that if you are planning to try it, you may not get the Catalina.

Breyer's Smooth & Creamy $1 Coupon

Another big thanks to my frugal friend Beth (who I am eternally grateful for her showing me the way of coupon shopping!) for this great coupon to use at Jewel's Unilever Catalina Promo this week.  Go here to sign up and print a $1.00 off any one Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy bar or sandwich 6 count carton.

$1.00 Nexcare Coupon

I saved a .pdf coupon for $1.00 off ANY Nexcare product.  I have read that there are 8 count packages of Nexcare bandages in the travel/trial area at many stores such as Wal-mart and Target priced right around .97.  If you would like this coupon send me a note, I would be happy to share it!  It doesn't expire until 9/1/10 so you have plenty of time to use it and stock up.

$1.50 Dove Deodorant Coupon

Here's a link to $1.50 off ANY Dove Deodorant or Body Mist.  Just click on the right side of the screen when you get there.  You can use this coupon a couple different ways.  If you are going to Jewel to do the Unilever Catalina Promo this coupon would come in handy, OR you can use it at Target or any other store that has these in the travel/trial aisle.  They are usually priced at .97 there so those would be FREE with .53 of overage.

$1 Tropicana Coupon

If you'd like to get a $1 Tropicana coupon go here and send mom an e-card though the Tropicana website.  Once you send your card you will get to print your coupon.  Mom will also get a $1 coupon.  If you don't really want to send mom a card, send it to a friend, yourself (using alternate e-mail), your spouse...

Walgreens Clearance Deals - Possible MM!

If you are going to Walgreens soon, you might want to check out this post over at Hip 2 Save.  It can't hurt to have these coupons with you if you are headed there anyway.  I struck out at "my" Walgreens this afternoon for these products, but maybe you will get lucky.    If you find these, leave us a comment with the store that you spotted them at!

Garnier Fructis - Clearanced to $1.09
California Kitchen Pizza - Clearanced to $2.00

Printable Unilever Coupons

**UPDATE - This link has been running extremely slow.  It does eventually load so give it time.  The site is probably on overload with many visitors!**

My frugal friend Beth gave me a "heads up" on these great Unilever coupons.  Go here to print Skippy, Bertoli, Q-tips, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and Dove Men+Care coupons.  These may work well with your Jewel shopping this week for the Unilever Catalina Promo.

Paying it forward

You may have noticed recently that I have added some icons (to this site) for things like Coupons.com and Upromise.com.  I would like to try to improve this site and have some great ideas for helping make your shopping trips easier, but I do not have the technical know-how to make these things happen without professional assistance.

In order to help build a fund to make these changes, I have signed up for a commission based program for these and a few other external links.  I signed up to hopefully "earn" a little pocket change to make these improvements happen.  I would love to see some of these ideas put to good use.  What I DO NOT want to do is turn this site into an advertisement board - I will only join onto commissionable links that are useful to us and related to the content here.

I am hoping that anytime you need to print from Coupons.com you will do so through the links here rather than elsewhere.  Signing up for their e-mail newsletter is also a commissionable task (hint, hint).   :-)

Upromise is a wonderful program and is very low maintenance once you are signed up - there's no better time than right now to get started!

Thanks for "paying it forward" and using these links - I hope to return the favor by making changes so that this is your "go-to" site for all things frugal!

.75 Softsoap Coupon - Use @ Wags 5/2-5/8

Here's a link to a coupon for .75 off any Softsoap brand body wash.  You can use this @ Wags this week for cheap body wash.  Softsoap is on sale for $2.99 with a $2 RR in return.  Using this coupon makes the Softsoap .24 after sale and RR.

I have read reports that the Softsoap RR is rolling as of today.  If you want to give this a try, go for it!  Rolling usually only lasts a day or so until Catalina realizes that it's rolling and puts an end to it.  Remember, if you are going to roll the RR and use the manufacturer coupon you will need a "filler" because of that silly rule at Wags with the # of Q's used.

Changes Coming to Wags

There has been talk for about 6 months (or longer) now that Walgreens is going to be upgrading their registers.  There have been reports on CW that these new registers have started to pop up in certain areas.  One of the store managers at "my" Wags has commented to me about the new system and how it works with coupons.  The register will match the coupons to the items on the receipt, similar to how Target receipts print out.

It seems as if there are some "bugs" that will need to be worked out on the new registers so I am going to recommend that you watch your receipts very carefully if you encounter a store with these new registers.  It has been reported that, when using manufacturer and store coupons together, the register is not recording the manufacturer coupon.  It would be a good idea to have a close estimate on what your total should be before you check out so you can  be sure things worked out the way they should before you pay.

I have also read reports that it is difficult to apply any additional coupons after the cashier totals the transaction (using RR's after knowing your total).

Just my guess, but I think the new register system will mean the end of overage with coupons at Walgreens.  The only way we will know for sure is reading information from other shopper's posts and trial and error on our part.  If you have an experience with one of the new registers please send me a note - I would love to get some info on how they are working.

Stay tuned for additional info as I get it...

5/2/10 Walgreens Shopping Trip

Walgreens seems a bit "slow" this week; here's a few good deals that I took advantage of @ Wags today.   Not an overall MM but still some deals on stuff that we use.

Total cost: $1.83

I know you are probably thinking - "what's with all the body wash this woman buys!!"  Seriously, we go through a lot of body wash in our house.  I don't know why that is because there's only 2 adults here that use it.  Whenever I see a body wash deal I am all over it - as far as I am concerned I can't ever have enough stockpiled!

Here's how I worked two transactions to get everything in the photo for $1.83.

Transaction #1:
2 Nivea shower gel @ $4.79 each = $9.58
1 Nivea body wash @ 5.59

2 Sure deodorant @ 2/$5
1 Irish Spring body wash @ 2.99

Paid $ 6.86 OOP and received back $5 RR for Nivea

Total OOP for both transactions = $13.83 and received back $12.00 in RR's.

The Nivea deal can be worked many different ways - the sale is "Spend $15 on participating Nivea products and get $5 RR".  The Nivea products are also on sale for 20% off this week.  I had a few extra $4 off Nivea body wash coupons that I shared with my favorite cashier, Rodie.  It pays to have all those extra coupon inserts for the weeks that the deals are really good. I like to share my coupon wealth!  :)

10 Pairs of Ladies Sunglasses for $16.78 Shipped

I have been seeing this deal out on a couple of the money saving blogs lately and thought it was worth a try.  I am in need of a new pair of shades so I would be buying a new pair sometime soon anyway.

I ordered this lot of sunglasses for a total of $16.78 which includes shipping.  The site lists the actual retail value of these at $199.99.   I can't wait to get them and see what kind of quality they are.  My order stated that they won't ship until 5/12 so I will have to wait a little while to find out!

Graveyardmall is a liquidation/closeout site where there are deals on everything from sunglasses to automotive to lighting fixtures.  Have you ever ordered from them?  Stay tuned and I will report back on my purchase when it arrives.

Jewel 'YourBucks' Pilot Program

Today I received this e-mail from Catalina regarding the Jewel 'YourBucks' program:

To our Valued Customers,

On Wednesday, May 5th, we will be discontinuing the "YourBucks" pilot program. We thank you for your participation in this test promotion and hope that you enjoyed the many special offers.

Catalina Marketing will be evaluating the "YourBucks" program before making any decisions about future activity. If you would like to provide any comments or suggestions on this program, please go online at tv.catalinamarketing.com with your feedback. You can add your comments in the customer service section of the website.

Again, thanks for your participation in the "YourBucks" program!

Bummer!!  I had really hoped it would continue beyond the proposed end date.  If you enjoyed FREE Activia, Suave, Oscar Meyer, Tidy Cat and other great deals through 'YourBucks' I hope you will provide feedback as suggested above so that maybe they will continue to offer it.

I did see over at CW that some other stores (Shop Rite) are rolling out similar programs but none in my area.  I will keep you posted if I see any good ones at stores nearby.
