No Coupon Inserts 4/4/10?

UPDATE : Coupon Tom is stating NO coupon inserts this weekend, but Sunday Coupon Preview shows a P&G insert.  Be on the look out for this insert - don't discard it by mistakenly thinking there's nothing worth digging through the paper for.

Just a remider that there's no inserts scheduled for this Sunday's paper.  It's Easter Sunday and there's normally no inserts on holiday weekends.  I am somewhat glad there will be no inserts - I need a break from clipping and shopping after this week at Wags, Target and Hilander!

Don't forget K-mart Super Doubles starts on 4/4!

Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap System

I have had my eye on the Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap System since it came out.  I wanted to give it a try for two reasons, one - I am a germ-a-phob and this seems like it's pretty sanitary and secondly because I have a 5 year old who tends to waste soap.  These are priced at $14.99 at Walgreens so I had been hoping for a decent sale sometime soon.

I noticed that there was a $5 Walgreens store coupon for the starter kit in the April coupon booklet.  I also noticed a $5 manufacturer coupon in the 3/28 SS.  When I stacked both of these coupons I was able to get the starter kit for $4.99.  I thought that was a pretty good deal so I picked up one for each of our bathrooms.  The starter kit includes the no-touch dispenser, 1 bottle of hand soap and 4 AA batteries.  The dispenser is a big hit at our house and I love that the amount of soap is regulated for our son.  So far, so good!  My only complaint is that the batteries that came with the one unit didn't even last 24 hours.  I hope they were just duds and that this dispenser doesn't go through batteries that fast.

Now to find a deal on the refills!! :)

Cheap Bed Pillows at Target

***My frugal friend Tara has let me know that she can't locate the Target $1.50 bed pillow store coupon on the website.  I am not able to look for it because after it's printed it doesn't show up under coupons any longer.  If you are having trouble finding it, try going to the Target website directly (not linking through this blog) and see if you find it under "home" on the left sidebar for coupons. This coupon did not expire until sometime in mid-April so it should still be there - unless Target has started putting limits on their own store coupons.***

We go through a lot of bed pillows at our house.  It seems that everytime our son gets sick we are throwing out his pillow and getting him a new one.  I noticed an awesome deal on bed pillows (from the blogs) at Target so I jumped on this one.  I stopped over at Target yesterday and wanted to alert you to this deal.  Target has their brand of basic bed pillows for $2.54 - a pretty good price by itself.  On Target's website there's a printable store coupon for $1.50 off any bedroom pillow.  Click on "home" over on the left side to find the coupon faster.  The coupon makes these pillows $1.04!  Great price!

These are standard pillows - nothing fancy about them.  I was only allowed to print ONE coupon per computer, not the usual two.  The Target store that I stopped at (E. State, Rockford) had plenty of these on the shelf.  I also used RR's to pay for these so this made me VERY happy!

Walgreens Alert

Just a "heads up"....I just read over at Common Sense With Money that the Walgreens RR for the Dove haircare products is no longer rolling as of yesterday. Walgreens or Catalina probably realized that the RR was rollling and fixed it.  Don't use the $4 RR to pay for another Dove haircare product to get another $4 RR - it won't print another RR!

Print it or Loose it!

Just a reminder that today is the last day of the month.  Printable coupons on sites like Coupons.com, Smartsource.com and Redplum.com change on the first of the month.  If there's a coupon that you have been meaning to print, do it today because it may not be there tomorrow!

FREE Snuggle Fabric Softner with Overage!

***My frugal friend Melissa texted me to point out that this coupon is actually for the 32 load size or larger, I read it as the 32 oz. or larger size....OOOPPPS!!  Use your best judgement, but the coupon doesn't beep at K-mart on the sale Snuggle.  She comments that it's $3.47 at Wal-mart and on sale at our local Logli (Schnucks affiliate) for $2.98 starting today.  Sorry for the mix up, that's what I get for being in a hurry and shopping with a 5 year old!***

Did you get the $3.00 Snuggle coupon in your 3/28 RP?

Snuggle is on sale at K-mart this week 2/$5.00.  Use two of the above coupons on these and score $1.00 in overage.

If K-mart doesn't have any on the shelf - ask.  When I stopped in today, the shelf was bare but there was more in back.   If they don't have any, get a rain-check.  If you think you can score more coupons soon, bump up the # you need when getting the rain-check, you may be able to purchase these at one of the clipping services.

The coupons don't beep at K-mart so the overage is almost a sure thing!  I always have a hard time thinking of ideas for what to use overage on when there's nothing else that I need so my son scored a hula-hoop today!

Farmland Coupons

Several months back I registered at the Farmland website and right away I received a mailing with a whole page full of various coupons for Farmland products.  Farmland bacon is our bacon of choice so I loved getting these coupons.  As it turns out, Farmland has sent me this whole page of coupons every 8 weeks or so since I signed up.  I love getting these and can't use them up fast enough before the next page comes along!  There are probably 10-12 coupons on each page.  Don't forget if you have two different addresses - sign up for both, you will get twice the coupons.  The most recent coupons I received from Farmland don't expire until 12/2011!

Free Jewelry!

I am always amazed at the things that you can find deals on.   Some things that I have found deals on that I never thought I would...postage stamps, gift cards and JEWELRY!!

I was reading April's issue of ALL YOU - something that I rarely do, and I ran across an article about finding freebies online.  I started checking out the recommendations.  Some of them I had already heard about but some were new to me.  One in particular really interested me - I love jewelry, so FREE sterling silver jewelry really got my attention.

The company Peora, is trying to make a name for themselves and get the word out about their line of jewelry.  In order to do so they have set up the website, http://www.silverjewelryclub.com/.  On this site, they feature a rotation of 4 selections.  The selections change every 15 minutes.  These feature items are FREE.  No strings attached, you only have to pay $6.99 for shipping and handling.  Almost sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?

Well, I decided to take one for the team and place an order - I actually ordered three items.  I wanted to test this out before I posted about it here.  I ordered two charms and one necklace.  The charms were FREE and when you order the charm, you have an option to purchase a sterling silver box chain for an additional $4.  I wanted to order one of the chains because I was thinking about giving one of these items as a gift (shh, don't tell!).

I ordered these on Wednesday, March 24th and they were delivered today, Monday, March 29 - I was very impressed with the super fast shipping.  Shown below are my purchases, not the best photos since it's really hard photographing such small items - while you are wearing them!
Sterling Silver and Amethyst on the box chain

Sterling Silver and Peridot on the box chain

For what I paid for these items I am very impressed.  My favorite one is the heart with the peridot and I got this one for myself because this is my son's birthstone - I am so happy with it!  With all the deal shopping I do for my family I thought I would treat myself to something special.

Why not check out some of these selections on the website - you could always drop a hint to your husband, Mother's Day is coming up soon!

3/28/10 Shopping Trip (Money Maker!)

I usually don't get out and start my shopping on Sunday, it's usually our family day.  Since our son is on spring break all week, I thought I would venture out today while he had a "Daddy & Me" day so I wouldn't have to drag him shopping during the week (well, at least not as much-LOL!).  I had a great day of deals that I wanted to share with you.  I was able to go to two different Walgreens stores, Target and Hilander.  Since there are so many Wags stores, I try not to clear out the shelves at any one store, so I will usually shop at a couple different ones along the way.

Starting with Walgreens:

At two stores I did a total of 6 transactions, 4 at the first store and 2 at the second store.  Since I did so many transactions, I won't list them all individually because they were each different, but I will give you run down of all the coupons that I used and how much of a MM day this was.

Total profit = $35.20

My frugal friend Tara alerted me to these great deals at Hilander.  It's not a store that I normally shop at since I don't get their flyer but I thought I would give it a try since it's a slow week at Jewel.  Hilander has a March to Savings Sale going on right now (thru 3/31) so for every 8 items you purchase from the list,  $4.00 is deducted from your total.  This deal stacks so I only had to do one transaction.  Most of my items are participating products of that sale.

Tara also told me about an online game that you can play at the Hilander website called Hit the Hoops.  If you win, the prize is automatically loaded to your Hilander card, just like electronic coupons.  Go here to play the game.  I haven't been lucky enough to win, but prizes include free products and a $5.00 off coupon.  Maybe you will be lucky and win.

Here's what I purchased at Hilander:

9 Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta
6 Bumble Bee Tuna
1 Annie's Mac N Cheese

2 boxes Go-Gurt yogurt
1 Gallon Milk

1 Cucumber

$12.00 deducted for the March to Savings Sale (three sets of 8 participating products)
Coupons Used:
1-$1.00 off Ronzoni Pasta from Better Homes & Gardens (April)

1-$1.00 electronic coupon for NV Granola Nut Clusters (Cellfire)
1-$.50 electronic coupon for Chex (Shortcuts)

Received back $3.00 Catalina for the Betty Crocker Potato pouches
Total OOP = $12.87

Lastly, at Target I picked up just a few things.  I really only went there to get one item for my son but I grabbed a few freebies while I was there.  I don't have a photo of this one because the toy that I bought is still hidden in my van - LOL!

2 St.Ives trial size body wash
2 St. Ives trial size facial scrub
2 Johnson & Johnson First Aid kit
1 Bucket of Toy Story Army Men (a special treat for later this week)

Coupons used:
1-$.05 reuseable shopping bag credit
2-$1.00 St. Ives body product 3/21 S
2-$1.50 St. Ives facial product 3/21 S
2-$1.00 Johnson & Johnson Red Cross Product 3/14 RP
1-$10.00 Register Reward from Walgreens (this was GREAT!!)

Total OOP: $3.46 (+ $10 RR - like $6.00 cash from MM Dulcolax deal above)

So, all in all, today was a great shopping day.  My frugal friend Lisa always refers to shopping like this as "coupon crack" and I would have to agree with her after a day like this.  I was on quite a high after all this.  Afterall, I came home with $12.87 more than I left with and all of the above product.  Who wouldn't be on a high after that?

*HOT NEWS*

I just got back from an AWESOME morning (and afternoon) of shopping!  I did some shopping at Walgreens, Target and Hilander.  I will post some of my deals later after I sort out my transactions but I needed to report this GREAT news to you!

While checking out at Target (on E. State Street, Rockford, IL) I asked the cashier to try taking a $10 RR that I had just gotten over at Wags.  I explained to her it was a manufacturer coupon and it should work - she agreed to give it a try.  It scanned, it beeped and when she hit a button on the register after the beep the coupon took $10 off my transaction and she accepted it!!  YAY!!

Next time you are shopping at Target, give it a try!!

Hilander Coupon Policy

My frugal friend Tara sent me some additional information regarding the coupon policy for the Hilander stores (in Rockford, IL).  She contacted them by e-mail requesting their coupon policy.  Hilander is an affiliate of Kroger stores, but their coupon policies vary by region.  In addition to the information I have linked under "store policies" here is what they e-mailed her:

Dear Sir or Madam:

K-mart Toy Clearance Additional 50% Off!

I stopped in over at my local K-mart today to check on some match-ups for the Super Doubles sale and I noticed that all the clearance toys are an ADDITIONAL 50% off thru 3/28/10.  There was quite a bit of toys in the back of the store in the clearance section and there were clearance toys in the toy department also.  I love these clearance sales for stocking up on birthday gifts and little trinkets for times when our son deserves something special.

Target Re-Useable Bag Credit

Since I have been shopping all the great deals at Target this week, I wanted to remind all my frugal friends to make sure to remember to bring in your re-useable shopping bags when you shop there.  Target gives a $.05 credit for each shopping bag that you use in your transaction.  I know $.05 doesn't sound like much, but as you have learned, it all adds up quickly and that's $.05 that you keep in your pocket and you don't give to Target.  I sometimes have difficulty remembering to bring them in, so I always keep a stack of them on the passenger side seat, right by my purse and coupon binder.  As I am grabbing those things, I just grab the bags also.

Knowing the Store's Coupon Policy

Today while checking out at Target, I was reminded about how important it is to be familiar with your store's coupon policy.  I had a cashier who didn't want to let me use a particular coupon because it's face value was more than the price of the product itself.  I politely explained Target's coupon policy to her but she continued to insist that she was correct.  At first I told her I had time to wait while she called corporate to get the proper coupon policy, but then I told her that if she didn't want to call corporate I could show her the copy of Target's coupon policy that I carry in my coupon binder.  It's printed straight from Target's website.  I pulled it out and read to her the line about this particular instance.  Here's what it reads:

• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.

After that, she agreed and adjusted the amount of the coupon to be the value of the item.  I didn't have to wait for a manager to be called over or for her to call corporate.  Of course, I didn't get the overage that I was expected on those 4 items but I still got them for FREE.  Overage is a gift, not a right, so I was happy with my FREE items.  I didn't want to make a big stink because the other items in my cart that I was getting overage on slipped right by her!

So, to make things easier for my deal seeking friends I have added a "Store Policies" section on my sidebar and I will continue to add these as I find them.  I would recommend printing these and keeping them handy when you shop.

The Home Depot Garden Club

Since spring and gardening season is upon us, I thought I would mention The Home Depot Garden Club.  Go here to sign up and you will start receiving a gardening newsletter with tips on all things outdoors.  This newsletter also usually has a coupon in it.  This month's printable coupon is for Buy One Package of Bulbs, Get One Free.

FREE Old Spice with Overage!

I scored another freebie with overage today that I wanted to tell you about.  At Wal-mart in the travel/trial size area there are bottles of men's Old Spice Red Zone "After Hours" body wash and these are priced at $.97.  If you have the 2/21 PG insert, inside there's a coupon for $3.00 off 2.  The coupon even states right on it that it is valid on the 1.7 oz bottles!  So, pick up these up and score $1.06 in overage for every coupon that you have....but hurry - the coupon expires 3/31.

Remember, Wal-mart can be hit or miss with the overage and coupons so try to go to a coupon friendly cashier for this one and make sure you have plenty of other items in your cart to use up your overage.  Also, couponers are not entitled to overage - it's a gift, so if they offer to reduce the value of the coupon to the price of the item, that's OK too, you will still get FREE body wash - just not the overage.

$.88 Kellogg's Clever Kids Fruit Snacks

Do you remember my link to the $1.00 off Kellogg's Clever Kids Fruit Snacks through Vocalpoint?  I spotted these on sale at Jewel for $1.88 so this coupon makes these new fruit snacks pretty cheap.  My son isn't a huge fruit snack eater, but when there's something new he'll give it a try.  He enjoyed these because in each pack there's letters (or numbers) and he likes trying to spell his name out of what's inside.  I used the $1.50 off coupon that VocalPoint mailed to me as a member to get these for $.38.  I think I will print a few coupons and go back for more!

Click here to get the link for the $1.00 coupon. I forgot to check to see when the $1.88 price goes through, but if you're going anyway, bring the coupons along and see if they are still on sale.

$2.00 off Dove Deodorant Coupon : K-mart Super Doubles

Here's a link to a really great $2.00 coupon for Dove Visibly Smooth Deodorant.  The last time K-mart had the Super Doubles sale I was able to use this coupon to get lots of FREE deodorant.  I haven't checked the price of this at K-mart recently, but I can't imagine that this would be priced much more than $4.

Remember, K-mart Super Doubles sale runs 4/4 thru 4/10!

Better Homes & Gardens April 2010

For my birthday I received a Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook (Thanks, Sandy!) and with the cookbook was a free 1 year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens magazine.  I like FREE so I signed up for it!  I don't really have a chance to read the magazine much but the minute it arrives in the mail I look through it for coupons.  In this month's issue there are quite a few.  Here's what I found:

$1.00 off any 1 box of Ronzoni Smart Taste pasta
$.50 off any variety Egg-land's Best eggs
$1.00 off any Cook's Ham
$.75 off any French's Fried Onions
$.75 on any Glade Relaxing Moments products
$2.00 on any 2 Glad Relazing Moments products
FREE or $1.00 off any Marcal Smart Steps towel, napkin, bath or facial tissue

So as you can see, coupons show up in all sorts of places.  Watch for coupons where you might least expect them...like when you are sitting in the dentist, doctor or hairdresser's waiting room with a stack of magazines to look at!

New printable coupon link

Just a note to let you know that I added a new printable coupon link over on my sidebar.  This link is to Campbell's coupons and you might want to check it out.  There's a really good coupon listed for $1.00/2 Condensed Cooking Soups.  This should make for almost free soups with a good sale.  The ones I printed today don't expire until 5/6/10 so you have awhile to watch for the best sale.

New Home Made Simple Coupon Booklet

Home Made Simple has a new coupon booklet out that you can request.  Go here to request the Decor Done Right Coupon Booklet.  This booklet has over $30 in manufacturer coupon savings on great brand names such as Cascade, Dawn, Febreze, Swiffer and more.  Remember, if you have more than one address to receive mail at, sign up for a second coupon booklet!

Good News for Shoppers

I just saw a report on CNN that starting 4/1/10 Wal-mart is lowering it's prices on over 10,000 grocery items!  Apparently Wal-mart has lost out recently on grocery shoppers business due to large chain grocery stores lowering prices to be more competetive.

This is good news for the average consumer but I think it's GREAT news for us deal seeking couponers.  What this is going to do is put pressure on the grocery store chains to keep us shopping there.  We will start to see more and more awesome deals real soon.  This is going to create price wars between the grocery store chains and Wal-mart for our business.  Hopefully we will see the chains follow with some of these great prices added with coupons and Catalina deals.

Sharpen your scissors and keep your eyes on the ads for these new lower grocery prices!

So after rebates and RR's I am ahead $.73.  I can't count the $10 RR that I used as "profit" because I paid $10 cash for that RR last week, so it was like cash in my wallet that I paid with but the $5 RR was a MM for me last week so that one doesn't count against my profit.

Good Deals from 3/21 inserts

I wanted to point out a couple good coupons in today's insert that will result in some great deals and freebies.  All three coupons are in the SS from 3/21.

1.  Save $4.00 on any Schick Quattro Disposable 3 ct. or Xtreme 3 Disposable 8ct. Razor package.  Walgreens has the Quattro 3 ct. on sale this week for $6.99 with a store coupon (in the March monthly coupon booklet) for $2.00 off.  Stack this manufacturer coupon with the store coupon and pay only .99 for these razors.

2.  Save $3.00 on any Schick Disposable Razor Package.  Wal-mart sells a 10 pack (with 2 bonus razors included) of the ST2 razors for $1.97.  Use this coupon for 12 FREE razors and some overage! (these are hard to locate at my Wal-mart so check the bins in the bottom row low to the ground - that's where you'll find them)

3.  $1.50 off St. Ives Facial Product.  This coupon will get you some almost free facial scrub at K-mart during the week of Super Doubles.  The scrub is priced right around $3.69 so when the coupon doubles to $3.00 off you can take this home for right around .69!

Planning ahead: Walgreens 3/28 thru 4/3

There are some great deals on the horizon at Walgreens the week of 3/28 thru 4/3 so I wanted to highlight those for you now so that you can start preparing.  This should leave plenty of time for those that need to purchase or trade for coupons.  Please note that you will want to print out any IP's now because chances are by the time the week of the sale rolls around they will have already met their print max.

I have not yet seen the ad-scan for the 3/28 - 4/3 flyer but I received this information from two different sources.  One of my sources is very reliable and has not steered me wrong in the past so I am confident that these will be the deals of the week.  Most of these are freebies and money makers!  All coupon match-ups are in blue.  The coupons turn these into MM!

*UPDATE* K-mart $10 off $20 purchase store coupon

**As of 3/20/10 K-mart has removed this coupon from their website**

So, I thought I would run out this evening and pick up some things for our son's Easter basket at K-mart with the $10 off $20 purchase coupon that I posted about yesterday.  When I handed over the coupon to the cashier she informed me that this coupon cannot be accepted at my store.

Apparently the coupon spread like wildfire over the internet, so K-mart changed it.  The link is the same but the coupon has changed to read certain stores that it is only accepted at.  My store is not listed.  If you check my original post below, you can click on the link and see the list of stores included.  Maybe you will be near one of these stores in your travels.  In the meantime, I am bummed that I can't use this at my store - I had BIG plans for this coupon.

I don't normally like to post about deals unless I have tried them because I don't want to send my deal seeking friends and family on a wild goose chase.  I got overly excited when I saw this coupon yesterday, which is why I posted it right away without trying it out first.  Lesson learned, I promise not to get too excited next time!

Hopefully your store is listed and I didn't send you out with false hopes!

*HOT* $10 off $20 purchase K-mart coupon

***Please see the above post for additional information about this coupon***

This is a GREAT coupon!  Print this $10 off your next $20 purchase store coupon for K-mart.  This coupon is in pdf format so print as many as you would like to use - there's no limit!  It doesn't expire until 5/22/10 so you have plenty of time to find some great deals and maybe even use it during the Super Doubles sale (4/4 - 4/10) to snag some awesome deals.  Oh how I wish I had found this yesterday before I went shopping - this would have made my clearance items that much better!

Remember, you can use this in conjunction with manufacturer coupons!

(Tip: since it's a pdf you can save it to your computer to print later - in case you need more)

April All You Magazine

My April All You Magazine came in the mail today and I am so excited about some of the coupons inside!  You are definitely going to want to pick up this issue!  It has $81.55 worth of coupons inside.  Here's just a few of the great ones that I see:

*FREE Rimmel product (up to $5.00): Color Rush Eye Shadow, Lycra Lash Extender Mascara, Exaggerate Eye Definer, Natural Bronzer or Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick.  It states "Purchase at Wal-mart" but it is a manufacturer coupon and does not state ONLY at Wal-mart.  Wouldn't it be great to find a B1G1F sale to combine this one with?

*$2.00 off any LaCross Beauty Tool - this will be a great one for K-mart Super Doubles sale - FREE beauty tools!

*$1.00 off Colgate Total - looks like I am heading back to Wags for more FREE toothpaste!

*$1.00 off Colgate Sensetive Toothpaste - and more FREE toothpaste at Wags!

*$2.00 off any one Spot Shot carpet stain and odor eliminator - this doubled at K-mart should make for an almost free carpet cleaner.

There are various other coupons, but these really stood out to me.  Of course, the newstand copy does not come out at Wal-mart this early, so you can expect to see this issue out next week or later.  If you don't have a subscription, you might want to think about ordering one, this magazine pays for itself.

3/17/10 Shopping Trip (Money Maker!)

I have been stranded at home for the last three days with a sick child, so when my husband got home from work yesterday I felt like I had to get out of the house.  I made a quick run to Walgreens under the false pretense that I needed to get our son some more medicine.  :)  I wanted to share my shopping trip with you.
I picked up all these items and walked out the door with $1.48 more in my pocket than what I went into the store with.  My profit would have been a little more had I not picked up so many Reeses - I was thinking I had to buy 6, but really only needed to buy 3 - oh well, extra chocolate never hurt anyone! :)  I know it sounds too good to be true to make money shopping, but this is how I did it:

Transaction #1:
Colgate Toothpaste = $3.99
Reese Cups x 6 = $4.77
Sudafed Mist x 2 = $9.98
Excedrin Menstral x 2 = $5.99
Gift Bag x 2 = $3.58
Subtotal = $28.31
Tax = $.81

Minus Manufacturer Coupons:
3 - $.55 Reeses Dark Peanut Butter Cups 1.5 oz or larger (3/14 SS)
1 - $4.00  Sudafed OM .5 oz $4.00 Off 1 AND 1 Sudafed Product (10/4 RP)
1 - $4.00 Sudafed OM .5 oz (3/14 RP)
2 - $1.00 Excedrin Menstral (from ww.excedrin.com)
1 - $1.00 Colgate Total (from the Jewel sale ad in Sunday's paper)

Minus Store Coupons:
$1.83 for in ad (weekly sale flyer) coupon for Reeses
$4.00 for Excedrin Menstral (monthly coupon booklet)

and then minus an additional .90 for the sale on the gift bags which were B1G1-50% off.

The total on my first receipt was $9.74

Transaction #2, 3 & 4: (all exactly the same)
Colgate toothpaste: $3.99
Subtotal = $3.99
Tax = $.27

Minus Manufacturer Coupons: (1 per transaction)
2 - $1.00 Colgate Total Enamel Strength, Total Advanced Whitening, Total Advanced Clean or Total Advanced Fresh toothpaste 4.0 oz or larger (3/4 SS)
1 - $1.00 Colgate Sensetive (printable from the Colgate website)

The total for each receipt was $3.26

With these transactions I received the following RR's:
4 - $4.00 Colgate RR's (for purchasing each tube of toothpaste)
1 - $5.00 Sudafed RR's  (for purchasing the two Sudafed Mist in 1 transaction)

So I paid $19.52 OOP and left with $21.00 in RR's.

I also stopped over at K-mart to check out the winter clearance.  There wasn't a lot left on the clearance racks, but I was able to score several items for $3.99 or less.  I got much needed items like sweat pants and sweat shirts, winter gloves, thermal shirts and a sweater for myself.

All in all it was a good shopping trip and much needed!

K-mart Winter Clearance

You may want to head over to K-mart this week to check out what they have on clearance.  All of their winter apparel is marked down to $3.99.  This is the time of the year to be stocking up on next fall/winter necessities.  They are having what is called a "Clearance Countdown" so I am assuming each week the prices get lower and lower until it's all gone.  I plan on stopping there tomorrow morning after I drop my son off at school because I am hoping to stock up on some men's and kid's sweat-pants for next season.

Before you head over there, you might want to read this post from Jill Cataldo's Super-Couponing website (with coupon match-ups) for the latest Catalina deals running at K-mart:

Kmart is running a "Spend $20, get $5 OR Spend $30, get $10 Catatalina deal.

What's interesting about this sale is that the ad states "Offer is good on ANY size, scent or variety of these featured brands," and then goes on to list the brands, noting that there are over 165 included items. No worrying about UPC lists or spreadsheets here!

Here are your matchups. (Note that the ad features VERY few prices - I've noted some here!)

HUGE Product Recall - Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein

There's a food recall right now with products containing HVP - Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein.  The list is HUGE with 153 entries as of March 11, 2010.  You can check out the FDA Recall information here.  This link contains information regarding the recall as well as a complete up to date listing of products.

Hopefully you don't have any of these products in your pantry, but if you do I highly recommend contacting the parent company regarding your products.  It's highly likely that they will reimburse you for the product and/or send you coupons for replacement of the product.

FREE Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kit

In the 3/14 RP insert there's a $1.00 coupon on any one J&J Red Cross product (excluding trial size).  Wal-mart and Target stores have a really nice little first aid kit for .97 in the travel section that this coupon works great with.  This is not a "trial size" product, it's called First Aid to Go.  It's a small first aid kit in a nice plastic container.  It includes 2 cleansing wipes, 2 first aid gauze pads, 2 knuckle bandages and 6 flexible fabric bandages in various sizes.

These are great to keep in your car, purse, diaper bag...wherever!  I have used these as little extras with baby gifts and have given some of these to my son's teacher to have in the classroom.   I keep one in my gym bag and even give them away to friends and family.  We see this coupon quite often and rather than let it go to waste I always grab these before the coupon expires.  I have added a (FREE) pair of nail clippers to the kit that I keep in my gym bag and a nail file also - there's room in the container to add a few extras, maybe even some pain medicine or a small tube of Neosporin.  These really are great for the price so don't forget to add these to your shopping list!
