5/2/10 Coupon Preview

We are scheduled for three inserts on 5/2 and if you would like a peek at what you can expect you can check them out here.  There may be some good match-ups in the P & G that would work nicely with the P & G Catalina promo running at Jewel until 5/5.  As usual, there may be slight differences in what you receive and what is listed just because inserts vary by region and newspaper.

Since it's the first of the month we should see some new printable coupons over at Coupons.com, Redplum.com and Smartsource.com also.

Sample Showcase!

Wholly Guacamole!!  Remember the Sample Showcase I posted about here?  I signed up on 4/21 and mine arrived in today's mail!!  Take a look:

There is some really great stuff in this box!  I hope you signed up and get a box for yourself also.  This is what's included:

1 trial size Secret Clinical Strength waterproof deodorant
1 trial size Aveeno Postively Ageless night cream
1 trial size Aveeno Positively Ageless firming body lotion
1 trial size Aveeno shampoo & conditioner
1 $2.00 coupon for ANY Aveeno Active Naturals product
1 $1.00 coupon for Aveeno Nourish hair care collection
1 full size Grill Mates - Montreal Steak Marinade
1 full size Dove chocolate bar
2 packets of single serve Taster's Choice freeze dry coffee
2 trial size Shower to Shower body powder
2 single serve packets of Splenda
1 $1.00 coupon for any Splenda
1 Bengay Moist Heat Therapy air activated pain relieving pad for neck, arms and abdomen

WOW!!  That's a lot of stuff for one sample box!  I am so impressed at how quickly this arrived and so glad that I signed up.

$1.03 MM @ Wal-mart

Here's one worth mentioning - use the $2.00 off any Bic disposable shaver coupon from 3/28 S at Wal-mart on the two pack of travel/trial Bic razors that are priced at .97.  These are in the travel/trial area and at my store they were all the way in the bottom bins (they are in plastic bags), a little bit hidden.  Make sure you choose your cashier wisely at Wal-mart (or you might get shot down), my cashier Becky is the best!!  :)

I know I said I wasn't shopping at Wal-mart any more but we needed to get fish for our son's new aquarium and Wal-mart is the closest place for that....and since I was getting FREE razors anyway the overage helped pay for the fish (and the new toilet seat that we desperately needed!).

More Target Deals

I have a few more deals to report from my Target visit today.

First, I wanted to share that there is Air Wick iMotion on clearance for $6.78. There was (not sure if it's still available, but maybe you printed it previously?) a Target store coupon on the Target website for $2.00 off any iMotion starter kit and you can stack that with the manufacturer coupon in the 4/25 S for $4.00 off to get these for .78.  There's also a printable here for $4.00 off.  Not a bad deal!  I did not get in on this since I did not have the coupon from the inserts with me, but I am hoping that some of you can take advantage of it - there were loads of them on the shelf.  These were on an endcap over by the cleaning supplies.

Also in the 4/25 S is a coupon for $1.00 off any Carefree product. Head over and pick up a package of Carefree liners (22ct) for .94 and use this coupon for FREE liners with a little overage.

Next, there's a $1.00 coupon on any Dove deodorant or body mist in the 4/25 RP.  Target has the small travel/trial size Dove Ultimate Go-fresh deodorant in the travel/trial area for $.97.  I picked up the cucumber and green tea scent - this is my favorite deodorant.  I really like these small size deodorants, they are perfect to keep in the car or your gym bag for when you need a little extra.

Target has Lea & Perrins Worchester sauce for $2.54 a bottle.  Use the $2.00 off coupon over at Coupons.com to make for some cheap sauce just in time for grilling season.

Reveal light bulbs are on sale this week for $2.00 each.  Use the store coupon on the Target website (linked over on the right sidebar) for $1.50 off and the $1.00 off manufacturer coupons from the 3/7 S and 4/18 S to get free light bulbs with overage!

Don't forget about the Motrin PM deal I mention here.  I was able to get a few more bottles today since they only had one last time I shopped Target.

Last you can get some Tresemme coupons here for some cheap hair care products.  These products aren't what I originally thought they were, but still a great deal.  These coupons are for Tresemme's new line - Fresh Start.  These are dry shampoo and a refreshing mist.  Very interesting concept for hair care products and I can't wait to give them a try.  Make sure you pick up the bonus packs for this deal - they were on an endcap in the make-up and hair care aisles.

Coupons for an Upcoming National Catalina Promo

Nestle Drumsticks are part of an upcoming national Catalina promo (running at Jewel from 5/3 - 5/12).  Go here to print a $1.00 coupon.  Dibs are also part of this Catalina and there's coupons for those at Coupons.com AND ALL YOU (this is two different links and you can print the same coupon at BOTH sites, that's 4 of the same coupon from each computer!).

This Catalina promo includes many different frozen treats - spend $12 get a $4 Catalina OYNO.  Make room in your freezer!! There will be more details about this promo as it gets closer, but if you have the May ALL YOU magazine there's quite a few coupons to match this upcoming sale in there also.  Here's a tentative list of participating products (courtesy of CW):

Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream or Bars - any size
Edy's any
Edy's Fruit Bars
DIBS any size
Nestle Drumstick
Eskimo Pie
Skinny Cow
Frosty Paws

This is a national Catalina promo but will be running at each chain at different times.  I do not have any info on when other stores will be running this promo yet and I hope to get my hands on a UPC list soon!

Good Deal Alert! $5 Patriotic Ladies T-shirts @ Target

I found these really hip patriotic ladies t-shirts at Target today.

These were so cute that I couldn't choose which one was my fave.  These are all priced at $5 each and since I had some overage to use up I thought, what the heck, and got each one that I liked!  These are Target brand shirts, but unfortunately they are not Merona brand so you can't use the Merona shirt coupon from the Target site on them (darn!).  Be on the look out for these at your store. (These were at the front of the ladies department - near the front of the store - at the E. State Street, Rockford, IL store)

P & G Catalina Promo @ Jewel 4/29-5/5

There's a new Catalina promo starting at Jewel tomorrow (it's actually being reported that it's working today, a day early, which usually happens at Jewel).  The details are spend $20 on participating P & G products and get a $5 Catalina OYNO and 5 FREE redbox movie rentals.  There are many  participating products including Tide, Bounty, Iams, Pringles, Charmin, Cascade, Pampers, etc.  To see the whole ad you can view it at the Jewel website here.  I have the UPC list (courtesy of CW) - if you need it just send me a note and I can get it to you.

There is a double dip through 5/1/10 with this promo on Pampers diapers and wipes.  Here's the details of the other promo that is also running concurrent with the P & G promo.   Buy $15 worth of Pampers Diapers & Wipes, get $2 off your next shopping order OR buy $25 worth of Pampers Diapers and Wipes, get $5 off your next shopping order.  Offer good between 4/18/10 - 5/1/10.  Purchases must be made in a single shopping trip.

Also, don't forget about the Swiffer rebate that would work great with this Catalina promo.  Here's a tip:  don't scan your preferred card until the end of your transaction, that way the shelf price will show on the receipt that you turn in for the Swiffer rebate - it helps you get to the $20 threshold quicker.  The preferred price will be taken off at the end of your receipt so you will still only pay the preferred card price.  :)

K-mart FYI

Just a note to those of you who were planning on using that $10 off of a $20 purchase K-mart coupon.  I have been reading reports that K-mart has decided to stop accepting that coupon any longer, even though the expiration date is 5/22/10.  This doesn't surprise me due to the fact that it was an unlimited print coupon and that it spread like wild fire over the internet.   Sometimes the masterminds over at K-mart don't think things all the way through.   Anyway, if you were going to use that coupon, it's not worth the trip.

FREE Scotch Packing Tape @ Wags

In my 4/25/10 Shopping Trip post I mention a $1.00 off coupon for Scotch Packing Tape.  This coupon was on the 3M website but is no longer available.  The coupon was in .pdf format and luckily I saved it to my computer before it was gone from the 3M site.  If you need this coupon send me an e-mail, text or call me and I will be happy to e-mail it to you.  If you stack this coupon with the Walgreens in-ad store coupon for Scotch Packing Tape (.99) you will get FREE packing tape with .01 in overage.  :)  FREE is good!

4/25/10 Shopping Trip (Money Maker!)

*NEW INFO* Using RR's at Wal-mart

Since we have been able to use RR's at Wal-mart (Belvidere, IL) recently, I tried to use a couple when I was there this morning.  The cashier knew nothing about taking them so he had to check with the front end supervisor.  She wasn't sure if they could take them (she was telling me that I could only use one per transaction).  After I went through the whole explaination about them being a manufacturer coupon issued by the manufacturer through Wags, she called the store manager for verification if they could take them.

The store manager, Mike WILL NOT accept them, he claimed that they won't get reimbursed for them (which is incorrect).  I asked for him to come up to the front of the store and I spoke with him directly,  he did not want to listen to anything that I had to say, he already had his mind made up.  I politely told him that since Target and Jewel take them that I will be giving my business to them rather than to Wal-mart and I left with my purchase.

After talking with my frugal friend Melissa, she had a similar experience with the same store manager.  He even tried to tell her that the coupon policy printed right from the Wal-mart website is not their policy and he has the "official" coupon policy but would not allow her to see it or have a copy.

These days the only thing Wal-mart is good for is freebies as far as I am concerned.  To me it's just not worth the hassle to shop there with coupons.

Unfortunately, this store manager does not have the insight to see the big picture about being customer service oriented and changing with the times - with couponing becoming more and more popular, if Wal-mart does not adjust to be more friendly to couponers they will continue to loose more business - they have certainly lost mine.

High Value Tresemme Coupons

Over at CommonSenseWithMoney there's a couple coupon links that you are going to want to check out.  There's a coupon for $2 on any Tresemme Fresh Start product and then there's a B1G1 coupon also on any Tresemme Fresh Start product (up to $5.50).  These are really great high value coupons.

When I was at Target yesterday I noticed that they have this new product line in bonus packs.  There's two products packaged together for $3.99.  To make a really great deal out of this you could pick up TWO bonus packs  and use the $2.00 coupon on one and the B1G1 coupon for the other to pay only $1.99 for 4 of these new Tresemme products.  I noticed hairspray and mousse, but didn't really check what the other products were.

Unfortunately I did not have these coupons with me when I was there :(  but I will be returning soon and will surely get in on this deal.

If you are going to head to Target soon, check out my post here on other Target deals that I found.

FREE Schick Disposable Razors

If you have used up all your $2 Schick coupons and still need more FREE disposable razors you can stop over at the Wal-mart website and print some.  Go here and then click on "get special savings" to be directed to a coupon for $2 on any one Schick disposable razor.  Wal-mart carries a bonus 12 pack of Schick disposable razors for $1.97.  These are a little hard to locate at my Wal-mart so look around in the wire bins that they keep some of the packages of razors in, at my store they are on the very bottom row.

Thanks to CommonSenseWithMoney for this great tip!

4/25/10 Coupon Preview

Check here for a peek at the coupons you can expect in tomorrow's paper.  Coupons vary by region so what you receive may not be exactly the same.

General Mills Coupon Booklet

Be on the lookout for the "Shrek-tacular" General Mills coupon booklet when you are out at the store.  It has $10 in General Mills coupons inside.  Shrek is pictured on the front of this booklet.  Included in this booklet are coupons for Betty Crocker brownie mix, Bisquick mix, Green Giant frozen bagged veggies, various GM cereals, various Pillsbury baked product tubes, yogurt and fruit roll-ups.

A big thank you to one of the teachers at my son's school who found these - she located them at Logli store (Schnucks affiliate), so if you happen to be at Logli, make sure you grab a couple for yourself (and your friends!).

New Info on Using RR's at Target

When I was checking out at Target today I wanted to use some of my RR's from the Kotex and Nature's Bounty deals going on this week.  The cashier had to call over the front end supervisor to double check if they could be accepted since they had just decided on a new policy for accepting these.

Here's what they told me:  They can take them IF they scan and they don't have to override the coupon.  So, they tried the Nature's Bounty $5 RR and, although it scanned, they would have to override the coupon to get the register to  acknowledge it so I wasn't allowed to use that one.  Then we tried the Kotex $2.50 RR and those scanned fine and did not require cashier intervention.

So, I think I have it figured out - the Nature's Bounty $5 RR wouldn't go through because I had NO Nature's Bounty products in my transaction.  The Kotex $2.50 RR did scan because I had 1 package of Kotex liners in my transaction (they were .94 and I used a $1.00 off coupon that I received from a home mailer).  I used 6 - $2.50 Kotex RR's on this transaction and all of them went through on the scan without cashier intervention.

So, (I am guessing here) if you want to use RR's at Target with no problems or questions from the cashier, make sure you have product in your transaction from the same company that the RR is from.  It doesn't matter the amount, as long as the product is there.

A Couple Good Target Deals

I was at Target today and wanted to point out a couple great deals for my frugal friends.

Over at the Target website (there's a link on the sidebar directly to Target coupons) there's a store coupon for $1.00 off Mortin pain reliever.  In the photo on the coupon is Motrin PM.  Motrin PM is $3.99 (regular price) for the 20 count box.  There's a $3.00 coupon in the 4/18 RP, so both of these coupons stacked makes for FREE Motrin PM.  You can print this coupon twice per computer.

Also on the Target website is a store coupon for $1.50 off a GE Reveal light bulb package (prints twice per computer).   There are packages of Reveal light bulbs for $2.14 each.  Stack this store coupon with the 3/7 S or 4/18 S $1.00 coupons for FREE light bulbs with a tad bit of overage.

Next, Target has the Benadryl Itch Relief Stick for $2.29 each.  Pick up TWO of these and use the $5 coupon in the 4/11 RP to get TWO for FREE!

If you printed the Degree Ultra Clear coupons you can grab these while you are there.  They are .97 so you get .03 overage with these.

While you are in the travel/trial section, pick up the Clean & Clear Morning Burst facial scrub for .97.  Use the $1 coupons from the 3/28 S to get these FREE with a little overage.  Hurry on these though, the coupon expires 4/25.

If you were lucky enough to print the Merona clothing coupons when they were available on the Target website, there's some really good deals to use those with also.  There are women's crew shirts (plain, layering type t-shirts) on clearance for $5.60.  If you have the $2.00 off any Merona women's shirt you can use this to get a nice shirt for $3.60.  There's some trouser socks on clearance from $1.48-$4.48 so the $2.00 off coupon would work nicely on any of those - I choose to use it on some colored footies since I am needing those, they were originally $8 for a package of 6, so I got them for $6.  Lastly, there are men's plain colored polo shirts on sale for $10 each.  Use the $3 Merona mens clothing coupon to get these for $7 - pretty good price for a polo!

Happy Earth Day!

In our house we treat everyday as Earth Day and try to make conservation and recycling a way of life.  It's important to us to set a good example for our son and leave this planet better than we found it for future generations to come.

With couponing, there tends to be lots of packaging and excess.  I would like to encourage you to take steps to make sure that you are doing everything you can to conserve and make the smallest impact on the environment.  I hope that you are recycling paper that you print on by reusing the back side for your shopping lists.  I hope that you send your used containers to the recycle bin instead of the trash can.  I hope that you are not wasting product just because you have a lot of it. I hope that you remember to use your reuseable bags when shopping.  I  hope that you are heading to Wags today to get your printer cartridges refilled instead of buying new ones.  These things all make a HUGE impact on the environment, especially when we all pitch in and do our part individually.

Please think about what you can do to make changes to be more environmentally friendly - your kids and grandkids will thank you for it someday!!  If you would like to, leave a comment telling what you do for Earth Day, or everyday, to help Mother Earth stay healthy!

Happy Earth Day - Happy Everyday!

Sample Showcase Sign-Up

Want the mother-load of samples?  The USPS is sponsoring product samples to generate more mail volume - talk about creating job security!  Go here and see if you qualify (I did!).

Gina left a comment over at DealSeekingMom.com and here's how she got approved to participate in this sampling:

My first try I did not qualify. If this happens to you, here is what you need to do to get another chance: first exit your web browser, then go to your internet options and delete your browsing history and cookies. Open your browser back up and add this link again, you'll get another chance. You can do this a million times if you want. What qualifies you is a very high income. The more children you say you have the higher your income needs to be. Do not put anything under $75,000. Hope this helps some of you :)

After being approved, I received a message stating that my sample box should be delivered in early May sometime.  I can't wait to see what they send and if there's coupons!  Stay tuned...

(If my link above doesn't take you to the right page to register, go here and look for the link in comment #41 - for some reason the link is being uncooperative!)

*HOT* Nature's Bounty Coupons

Here's a way to really rock the Nature's Bounty deal at Walgreens this week.  Sign up at the Nature's Bounty website, or log into your account if you already signed up - and then go here and snag all these codes for your account.  You enter these codes and lot numbers and your account is credited points.  Once you have entered everything (make sure you check the comments for codes also!) then you can redeem points for coupons.

There is a $5.00 off coupon listed and the best thing about this is that if you keep clicking the back button you can print it 4 times per computer.  This $5.00 coupon will cost you 500 points so make sure you have entered enough codes to cover the coupon.  These $5 coupons make the Vitamin D a complete MM at Wags - you only pay the tax OOP and get a $5 RR back!!

If you are going to sign in to your account on another computer and print additional coupons you will have to redeem 500 more points to do so, but if you have entered all the codes from the link above you will have plenty to do this.

(credit goes to CW for the great link to all the codes!)

Upcoming Catalina Deal

I read over at Money Saving Madness that there's a national catalina promo coming up in early May on Edy's and/or Dibs ice cream.  You can read the post here.  If your family likes ice cream, you might want to print these coupons now, since they may not be available when the catalina promo starts.  The coupon is for $1.00 on Dibs and is available on Coupons.com.  National catalina promos usually run at all the grocery stores with catalina machines at the registers.  Hopefully these will be part of the catalina promo and I am hoping for a sale at the same time so we can really turn this into a great deal with coupons.

FREE Scotch Brite Sponges with Overage

At Wal-mart there are individually packaged Scotch Brite sponges for .84 each.  These have a sponge on one side and a scrubber on the other side.  There's a printable coupon for $1.00 off ANY Scotch Brite product which makes these FREE with a little bit of overage.  The printable coupon is no longer available on the 3M website, but I have it saved on my computer in .pdf format.  If you would like this coupon send me an e-mail and I'd be happy to share it with you.  It doesn't expire until 6/30/2010 so you have quite awhile to use it.

When I used this coupon at Wal-mart it did beep because of the .84 price so make sure you go to a coupon friendly cashier that will push it through for you.  You can also use this at other stores that sell these sponges.  I think I have seen them for $1.00 at Jewel and other stores.

Nature's Bounty Vitamin D MM @ Wags 4/18

Starting 4/18/10 Nature's Bounty Vitamin D 1000IU High Potency Tablets (120 count) are on sale for $5.00 each with a $5.00 RR in return for your purchase.  There are $2.00 off ANY Nature's Bounty Vitamin/Supplement product over at redplum.com.  Use these coupons to turn this into a $2 MM!

Hurry and print these because they probably won't last long with a deal like this! (If you don't see the coupon, try using zip code 30002 to find it)  If you can't print or miss the $2 coupon, Coupon Tom lists a $1.00 coupon in the 3/14 RP - still a MM and FREE vitamin D.

*NEW INFO * You can also sign up at the Nature's Bounty website for an opportunity to print more coupons.  This is a different link to another $2 coupon that you can also print twice.

4/18/10 Coupon Preview

Looks like we can expect two coupon inserts in tomorrow's paper.  Go here to see what kinds of coupons we should see.  Remember, coupons vary by region and newspaper so you may not see these exact same coupons or values, but it should be similar.

Lowe's vs. The Home Depot

As I have mentioned before, I am a member of The Home Depot Garden Club.  This month I received my e-mail newsletter with an exclusive offer coupon for "buy one tree, get one tree free".  My husband is a tree hugger - he LOVES trees of all kinds.  Luckily we have 5 acres where he can plant trees to his heart's content.  When I saw this coupon I knew he would be delighted and afterall, with all the time I spend on seeking out deals why not treat him to something he really enjoys (with a coupon of course!).  We usually prefer to purchase our trees in the spring from Lowe's, we just like their prices and selection better than The Home Depot.  We decided to stop by Lowe's to check out their trees first, and since I was there I asked if they honor competitor coupons.  I am so happy that I decided to ask because it turns out that they do.  We ended up purchasing two 4-5 foot flowering pear trees for $19.98 using the coupon.  This was an awesome deal for two beautiful trees that we will enjoy every spring for many, many years to come.

My point here is that it never hurts to ask.  Next time you see a store coupon that you think you would like to use if it were at a different store, bring that coupon to your preferred store and ask.  The worst they can do is tell you no, but at least you tried.  You might end up being pleasantly surprised!

Cheap Hamburger Helper @ Hilander

Take a stroll down the cookie aisle at Hilander and you will find a display of twin packs of Hamburger Helper on special for .99 each with your Hilander Plus Shoppers Card.  There are a couple coupons that you can pair with this special for a great deal.  Coupon Tom lists printable coupons for .75 off 3 at smartsource.com and coupons.com, there's also insert coupons for .75 off 3 in the 3/7 S & 4/11 S.    If you purchase three twin packs with one of these coupons you will get 6 boxes of Hamburger Helper for $2.22 - that comes to .37 a box.  Not a bad price for Hamburger Helper.

A big thanks to my frugal friend Renea for pointing out this special price!  Renea also adds that if you received the Box Tops coupon booklet in the mail  there's a $1.00 off 3 Hamburger Helper coupon in there that could be used to make this a better deal.

* NEW INFO * Check the electronic coupons on Cellfire.com, Tara tells me that she found a .75 off 3 there too. With both coupons stacked you will get 6 boxes for $1.47 or .25 a box! Nice catch Tara!

FREE Degree Ultra Clear

Target and Wal-mart both sell a travel size of the new Degree Ultra Clear deodorant for .97.  Sign up to print this $1.00 off coupon to score some free deodorant!

Kotex Sample Packs

Go here to request your choice of four different sample packs from Kotex.  Remember, samples sometimes come with high value coupons!

Great News about RR's

I have great news to share about new stores to use your RR's at.

My frugal friend Tara shopped at Wal-mart (Belvidere, IL) last week and had a little chat with one of the store managers regarding the use of RR's to pay.  She explained how RR's were manufacturer coupons, issued by the manufacturer through Walgreens and that they do not state on them that they are only redeemable at Walgreens.  The manager agreed with Tara that they should be accepted and gave it a try, explaining that if they scanned at the register they would take them.   The RR's scanned and were accepted (happy dance!).  She tried again later in the week and again they were accepted.  I was over at Wal-mart this afternoon with some RR's in my wallet so I decided to give it a whirl.  My favorite coupon friendly cashier,  Becky was working so I really had nothing to loose - I explained it to her, she called over the front end supervisor and he said to give it a try.  The RR's all (about $15) scanned and they accepted them.  YAY!!  I can't wait to try a Catalina from another store there also.  If anyone experiments with this send me a quick note and let me know how it goes.

Another frugal friend, Katie reported today that she was able to use RR's to pay at CVS (Roscoe, IL).  I was not previously aware that CVS would take these, but I am not a CVS shopper so this could be something new or it could have been an acceptable practice there for awhile - not sure.  But either way, it's yet another new place to use your RR's or Catalinas.

Purina Beneful Dog Food with Overage

My frugal friend Tara alerted me to a great deal on Purina Beneful IncrediBites brand dog food.  In the 3/21 S there is a coupon for $3.00 off ANY package of Purina Beneful IncrediBites dog food.  I used these today at PetSmart on the 6 oz. trial size bags priced at .99 with a PetPerks card (these are hanging on a strip from the shelves infront of the large bags of this food).  The coupons scanned and did not beep so I ended up with $2.01 in overage for each bag that I purchased...since I "bought" 8 bags I ended up with a whoppin' $16.08 in overage to put toward my canned cat food.

Tara also told me that Walgreens has these for $1.00 each and she found them near the register.  At Walgreens the $3.00 coupon beeps if you only purchase one bag, but if you purchase 3 bags, the coupon won't beep and you will get all three bags for FREE.  No overage, but you can still make a pooch very happy with a nice treat!

FREE Oreos and Chips A-Hoy at Walmart

If you printed those Nabisco coupons from Facebook that I mentioned yesterday you can get yourself some FREE Oreos and Chips A-Hoy cookies.  When I was at Wal-mart today I found some small, individual size packages in the check out lane that were .50 each.  Use the $1.00 off TWO coupon and get these FREE!  There is no size restriction on the coupon so it works on ANY size package.  YAY - who doesn't love FREE cookies?

Facebook Coupons

I discovered something this evening that I wanted to share with you (maybe you already know this and I have been in the dark ;-) all along!).  Nabisco has a new coupon on their Facebook Fan page so I logged into my Facebook account and printed it twice from my main computer.  Since it's a pretty good coupon, just for the heck of it I thought I would try printing it from my other two computers, so I logged into my Facebook account on each of my other two computers and was able to print the coupon again - twice on each one.  It appears that these Facebook coupons are linked by computer, not by Facebook account, so anytime there's a good one you will have to remember that!

I have been reading that this Nabisco coupon can be used at Wal-mart, Walgreens and CVS on the small packages or the "to go" cups of cookies priced right around .99-$1.00 each.  There is no size restriction on the coupon, it just states $1.00 when you buy any 2 Oreo or Chips A-Hoy products.  .50 for a sweet treat is a sweet deal!  I hope I find some tomorrow while I am out and about.

Swiffer

Originally posted 11/09 - I am bumping this up and reposting this since it continues thru 6/30/2010.

Have you tried any of the Swiffer products? I have several of the Swiffer line of products in my cleaning closet, and they are great for quick clean ups. The real reason why I really love Swiffer products is because my 5 year old son loves them. He thinks they are great when he gets to help me clean, he actually WANTS to help! He loves the duster and he even has his own Swiffer Sweeper Vac. I replaced his toy vacuume with the Swiffer when his toy vacuume broke and he thinks it's the best. Since he takes ownership of it, he loves getting it out after meal time to quickly pick up any crumbs that may have fallen from the table. I just love how it's teaching him responsibility and to clean up after himself!

I was able to purchase all of my Swiffer products with coupons from the Home Made Simple coupon book (must sign up to get this coupon book). Swiffer has a great money back guarantee going on now through 6/30/2010. If you purchase one of the participating products and find that you do not like it for ANY (and I stress ANY) reason, you can submit the receipt and UPC within 30 days for a full refund of your purchase price (if you used coupons to purchase the item, they will not deduct the coupons from the purchase price when refunding your money). The form does not even ask you to explain what you don't like about the product. To read more about this guarantee and download the form for submission go here. There's also a link to printable coupons for Swiffer products there too.

If the cost of the refills for the Swiffer products is what is keeping you from making a purchase, you might want to think again. At one of the K-mart double coupon sales I was able to get quite a few bottles of refill solution and different cleaning pads for all my Swiffer products really cheap. Here's a great article from MoneySavingMadness.com on other ways to make owning and using Swiffer products affordable. I haven't tried any of these suggestions yet, but when I run out of pads and solutions I will be giving it a whirl!

There's also a new rebate for Swiffer refills listed on the manufacturer's website.  Go here to check out how to get a $10 rewards card for purchasing $20 in Swiffer refills between 4/1/2010 and 6/30/2010.

Ban Coupon & Walgreens Deal

Here's a way to get a .75 coupon for Ban deodorant.  Follow this link and sign up with Ban.  After you are signed up they will give you the opportunity to print this .75 coupon.  If you take that coupon over to Walgreens you can use it there for some cheap deodorant.  There's a Walgreens store coupon in this week's flyer for this deodorant for .99.  Stack this coupon with the manufacturer coupon and get Ban for .24 each.

If you still want in on this deal, but can't print there are .75 & .40 coupons in the 3/7 S that will make this a deal without using any ink.

I didn't post this deal in my "Walgreens Deals" post for yesterday because I didn't buy any.  We have so much deodorant in our house that I am not sure I will ever need to buy it again!  I usually only try to post deals that I have tried because then I KNOW that they work, and how they work.  I don't like to send my friends out with an "idea" of a deal and then to find out that it doesn't quite work as planned.

P & G Coupon Booklet

Great News!  Procter & Gamble has revised the dates for submission to get the A Year of Savings coupon booklet.  You now have until May 31, 2010 to purchase $50 in P & G products and the submission does not need to be postmarked until June 15, 2010.  If you have already mailed in your submission, think about saving another $50 in receipts and submitting for a second coupon booklet at a different address.

K-mart Toy Clearance Additional 50% Off!

K-mart has their 50% off toy clearance going on right now.  All toys on clearance are an additional 50% off the lowest clearance price.  This would be great to pair with the $10 off of a $20 purchase coupon if you can shop at one of the stores listed on the coupon.  The coupon is no longer available online, but I saved it to my computer so if you need the coupon send me a note and I would be happy to e-mail it to you, it's a .pdf file.

Walgreens Deals 4/14/10

It's a slow week at Wags this week, but I did want to highlight a couple good deals that I got there today.

Over at Coupons.com there's a coupon for $1.50 off any TGIF Snacks.  Walgreens sells the TGI Friday's bags of potato skins or mozzarella sticks for $1.99.  .49 for a salty snack is not a bad price at all! (Look over in the chip aisle for these).

They also sell pairs of No Nonsense knee high nylon stockings two for $1.00.  Use the $1.00 off 2 No Nonsense products in the 3/21 S to get these for free.  These are not by the packaged nylons, but they are in pink display boxes by the cosmetics register.  These come in tan and black.  If you don't need these I am sure women's shelters would be happy to have them.  I had a few extra coupons and shared them with my favorite Walgreens cashier today.

The only other deal that I picked up this week at Walgreens was the Men's Schick Hydro shaving cream on sale for $2.99 with a $3 RR in return (thru 4/17).  If you have the $2.50 RR's from the Kotex sale last week this would be a great item to roll your RR into.

Thanks for going easy on me this week, Walgreens - I needed a break!

PetSmart Deals 4/14/10

If you have pets there's a couple great deals over at Petsmart right now that you shouldn't pass up.  Even if you don't have pets, if you are going to be in the vicintiy of a PetSmart store you could stop there and pick up some freebies for the animal shelter.

If you have the PetSmart PetPerks card, you can get Milk Bone Essentials Plus Long Lasting Dog Chews for $1.99.  Over at Coupons.com there's a $2.00 off coupon making these FREE.  To make this a sweeter deal, clip the Milk Bone Dog Snacks Buy 1 Get 1 Essentials Plus Biscuits FREE (up to $4.99) coupon from the 4/11 RP and combine it with this deal.  That's two bags of chews and two boxes of dog biscuits absolutely FREE.  You will have one happy pooch on your hands!

Of course we can't forget about kitty, so you can clip the FREE Pro Plan pouch of dry/hard cat food and use those while you are there also.  (These can also be used on dry/hard pouches of dog food if you prefer).  These coupons were in the 3/28 S.  The pouches were found on one of those little hang strips on the shelves - not on the shelves themselves.  I also located some of these pouches on the upper shelves in the "treat" area (in overstock).

As I was walking around the store I noticed a tear pad for a FREE reuseable shopping bag (up to $2.99 value) if you purchased 30 cans of ANY Purina canned cat food.  There are Pro Plan B1G1 coupons for the Purina Pro Plan canned cat food in the 3/28 S also so if you have 15 coupons, pick up 30 cans, get half free and a free reuseable shopping bag.  The reuseable shopping bag tearpad coupon expires 4/25/10.  The PetSmart reuseable shopping bags are really cute - very roomy and pet themed.

One great thing I noticed about my PetSmart store (E. State Street, Rockford, IL) is that they gave me the full value of the coupon on the B1G1 coupons.  Meaning, if the coupon states B1G1 up to $1.99 - they give the full $1.99 even if the item is only .89!  I was shocked to see this happening today and worried that I wouldn't have enough in my cart to use up all that overage, but I lucked out and had it covered.

Upromise

Originally posted 11/09 - I am bumping this up and reposting it since Upromise is such an easy and rewarding program!

When our son was just a couple months old I signed up for UPromise. It's very easy to do and after the initial sign up, it's a very "low maintenance" way to save money. In over 5 years we have accumulated right around $1100.00 in his account. That's a lot of change for basically doing nothing. To read in detail about UPromise and all of the wonderful offers they have go here.

When you sign up you link all of your shopping cards and credit cards to your account. When you make purchases on qualifying products or with participating merchants using those cards you earn cash back into your account. UPromise also offers electronic coupons you can load to your shopping cards and when you purchase those particular products, the value of the coupon is deposited in your account.

You can invite family or friends to join and help you save even more - grandparents love doing things like this!

Even if you don't have children you can still join UPromise. You can save toward your own education if you are a student, you can pay off student loans with the earnings, or you can just put it in a savings account. UPromise allows you to withdraw money at anytime, you just have to fill out a form and request a check, no strings attached.

Still Tasty

I found this really great website while perusing the internet for money saving realted sites.  It's called "Still Tasty".  Over at Still Tasty you can determine if using a product past the "sell by" or expiration date will be safe.  This site also offers food storage tips as well as advice on the proper way to defrost and prepare foods.  You can even ask any related questions and get reliable answers there.

This site covers just about anything you wanted to know about food freshness and storage.  I see this as being a wonderful tool for those of us who coupon and stock up when the deals are hot so I have added this to the sidebar for quick reference.  For a link to another article about expiration dates, check out my other post here.

Help Earn Extra Box Tops for Your School with SuperValu

The SuperValu (Jewel, Acme, Albertsons, Cub, Farm Fresh) family of stores has teamed up with Box Tops to help you earn extra Box Tops for schools.  You can register at a special Box Tops for Education site here and earn extra Box Tops for your school.  I just signed up and it was super fast and easy - I earned 5 points for my school just for registering.  You do not have to be a SuperValu shopper to enter, just choose a store nearby your house - you don't actually have to shop there!

There's also tons of Box Tops product coupons on this site that you can access after registering.  This is not the same as the Box Tops for Education site, so if you have already registered there, you need to register seperately at the "Growing Local Learning" site also.

Honest Kids Organic Drink Pouch Coupon

Here's a rare coupon - $.75 off  one carton of Honest Kids organic drink pouches.  The great thing about this coupon is that once you fill in your name and e-mail address, it's an unlimited print coupon.  Print as many as you think you may need - and then print a few more!  The coupon does not have an expiration date.  Hurry though, this states that it's a limited time coupon so it may not be there if you wait too long.

If your family drinks these juice pouches, make sure you check to see if your school participates in Terracycle.  Schools get $.02 per empty drink pouch that they recycle and mail in to Terracycle.   My son's school particpates in this program and I am happy to help the environment and the school by doing the right thing.

Target and Catalina Coupons

I stopped in over at the Super Target in Algonquin (Randall Road) this afternoon and I have some news to report back.

First, I was able to use about $37 in RR's and Hilander Catalinas to pay with.  The cashier was really nice, but wasn't sure about taking them so she called over her supervisor.  He hesitated and then I started with my pre-planned explanation that these are actually manufacturer coupons issued by the manufacturer through Walgreens and Hilander.  He stated that they are trying to decide if these are coupons that they should be taking and are waiting on an answer but he would take them "this time".

Second, this Target store actually had Catalina machines at the registers.  I noticed them right away and inquired about them to the cashier.  She told me that they were very new and she wasn't sure if all stores were getting them.  I asked about what was printing from them and she reported that it was only coupons, like $.50 off a particular product...none that are $XX ONYO.  Personally, I would love to see Target join the Catalina game!

Lastly, I noticed something when she was scanning the RR's and Catalinas that I was paying with.  I had used various other manufacturer coupons on several of the items that I was purchasing, but not on everything.  After she had scanned most of the RR's and Catalinas, the last one gave a message on the screen that there were more items than coupons.  She was able to override this message but this makes me think that Target rules work like Walgreens with a ratio of coupons to items.  Just something to think about when shopping at Target and trying to use RR's or Catalinas to pay.

All the RR's and Catalina coupons that I used beeped and required cashier intervention, but when she hit the magic button on the register it accepted the coupons with the proper face value.

I am really hopeful that Target will continue to take RR's and Catalinas - they certainly will get more of my business if I can spend them there.  For those of you that have had difficulty redeeming these at Target stores,  my advice is don't give up.  Have your explanation ready and carry the Target coupon policy with you.  The Target coupon policy specifically states that they take two kinds of coupons: Target issued store coupons and manufacturer issued coupons.  RR's and Catalinas are manufacturer issued coupons.

New Link

Just a note to let you know that I added an new money saving blog to the list.  Check out Mommy Snacks  when you have a chance.  This blog highlights Kroger match-ups and great deals each week.

Walgreens Pilot Pen MM!

Walgreens has the Pilot brand "Frixion" pens and highlighters on sale this week for $1.19 a pack.  In the April Walgreens coupon booklet there's a coupon for $1.00 off each pack making these $.19 each.  The best part about this deal is that on the back of each pack there's a Refund Form.  The form indicates that if you purchase 1 pack you will get $1.25 refunded, 2 packs = $2.75 refunded and 3 packs = $4.50 refunded.  Today I picked up three packs and paid $.57 (plus tax) and will get back a $4.50 refund!

CVS Info Added

Just a note to let you know that I added the iheartcvs.com blog to the list of money saving sites on the sidebar.  If you are new to shopping at CVS, check out the "CVS for Newbies" link at the top of the page.

WT's @ Wags??

While I was cruising the aisles of my local Walgreens store today I noticed something...they are now carrying alcohol.  They sell cold beer and a pretty large selection of bottled wines.  When I first noticed this, my first thought was this could potentially be a new source for wine tags/hang tags!  There were no hang tags on any of these new bottles on the shelf, but I am going to keep my eyes on these - there may be tags hanging on these bottles sometime soon.  When liquor reps visit the stores, they add the hang tags to the bottles.

Promise Spread MM Surprise @ Hilander!

I am sure you knew that I couldn't keep from shopping this week even though I am supposed to be doing my spring cleaning!  He-He-He...shopping is just so much more FUN! I stopped in at Hilander this morning to do the BC Potato Pouch Catalina deal a couple more times with the new BC coupons that came out on Coupons.com and Smartsource.com on the first of the month.

Since I was there I was also getting some of the Promise Buttery Spread that I found noted over at Jill Cataldo's website for the deals of the week.  The spread is on sale with your Hilander Plus Card for $.98 a tub and there are $1.00 off coupons in the 3/14 RP.   I had three of these coupons so I purchased three tubs in with one of my BC Potato  Pouch transactions.  When my Catalina's printed it was like I hit the jackpot!  A $2.00 Catalina from Promise Spread printed out!!  So, three tubs of Promise and I MADE $2.06!  This is an unadvertised Catalina deal that I knew nothing about - I still know nothing about it except that if you buy 3 tubs you are guaranteed to get a $2 Cat!

**UPDATE: While at Jewel, I noticed a Catalina tag on the Promise - thru 4/18, buy 3 Promise get $2 Catalina.  The Promise was $1.99 at Jewel.

Happy Easter ~ Happy Spring!

I know spring has officially been here since March 20th, but personally, Easter always feels like the start of spring to me.  It just seems fitting, all things starting new again on such a day like Easter.

I want to wish all my frugal friends a Happy Easter and Happy Spring.

After seeing what the week has to offer, as far as deals, I will probably be using this week to catch up at home doing some housekeeping.  We have been sick around our house and now that our health has been restored, I am behind and need to catch up.  Time to start spring cleaning!  So, I may not be posting as much as I have these past couple weeks, but I will be here. Keep watching the money saving blogs for deals, match-ups and tips this week.  If you have any questions or run across a great deal, please send me a note, text or call.  :)

Make MORE Money on your Dulcolax!! Cha-Ching!

Over at CW, peeps are reporting that you can turn your Dulcolax MM at Wags this past week into a bigger MM!!  There's a rebate here for $5.00 on Dulcolax Balance.  This rebate form states that it expires on 2/28/2010 but a couple deal seekers over at CW called the Dulcolax customer service at 888/285-9159 and found out that the rebate actually goes through 6/30/2010.  Give them a call and check for yourself if you are skeptical or just take a chance and mail it in - all you have to loose is the postage.

Need More Printable Coupons?

I am lucky enough to have regular access to 3 different computers (sometimes 4) so that I can print multiples of internet printable coupons.  Usually, I can print two of each coupon from each computer and that ends up being enough for my family when the deal is hot.   If I need more I can always ask friends or family to print off a few more for me.  I know some people can't print any due to technical problems or some have limited access to many computers.

I am always trying to think of ways to help make couponing easier and available to everyone.  A couple days ago I had an idea, so today I stopped in over at my local library to test out my idea.  At the library there are computers - quite a few of them actually.  These computers are connected to the internet for patrons to use and most of them are hooked up to a printer.

First, I stopped up at the front desk and asked about using the computers since I had never done this before.  I had to upgrade my library card in order to have access to the computers.  I also inquired about printing; at my library it costs .10 per black and white page and $1.00 per color page.  Since coupons don't have to be in color to be redeemed, the black and white option is perfect.  The librarian showed me how to obtain access to the computer and I signed onto the internet.  I was able to print coupons from the library computer with no problems at all.  I actually had to download the coupon printing software so I could print, but once I did that it worked like a charm!

I tried printing from coupons.com and was able to get three coupons to a page from there.  There were other sites that I printed from but those all only printed one per page.  So, for .40 I scored some great, high value coupons that I will use.  Keep in mind that the two per computer limit will still be in place but you will most likely have access to many computers to print them from.

If you are having printing problems or need more coupons, make a list of coupons you want to print and then head over to your local library and inquire about printing.

New Additions

Just an FYI about some additional info I have added over the the sidebar.

1.  I added a page called: The Basics: Sign Up!.  On this page you will find a list of sites to sign up at for high value coupons, special offers, new products and giveaways. Check it often because  I will add new links as I find them.

2.  I added a new money saving blog to the list.  Check out Couponing for 4.  I added this link because I see some good area grocery stores listed as part of their regular posts.

3.  I have added a category called "Sources for Coupons".  In this area you will find links to coupon trading and clipping services.

4.  I added the Deal Seeking Mom Coupon Database to "Coupon Search".  I hope this one can fill in the blanks that Coupon Tom leaves out.  This database has MIR's listed as well as printable sources and the insert coupons.

I am trying to make this site the best source for you with links to get all the info you need for the sales and freebies.  If you run across a new blog that you think should be added, send me a note.  If you find some other frugal tips or info that you think would be helpful to everyone, please let me know.

Yoplait Greek Yogurt

Pssst...and General Mills sent me some coupons to give their new Yoplait Greek Yogurt a try.  Included in the coupons was a FREE cup of the new yogurt.  I really love the smooth, creamy texture of Greek yogurt and with 12 grams of protein and 0 (yes, ZERO!) grams of fat it's a healthy choice for a snack.  I can't wait to give Yoplait a try.   If you are a member of Pssst you may be receiveing these great coupons also.   Here's a link for a printable coupon if you'd like to give the yogurt a try - I highly recommend it!

Samples from Hilander/Kroger stores

If you have a Hilander Plus Shopper's Card, head on over to their website here for some FREE samples.  I signed up for the FREE sample of Orville Redenbacher's Cheddar Cheese Gourmet Popping Corn - YUM!  I am guessing that these offers change periodically so check back often, you never know what you might find.  Remeber, FREE samples usually come with high value coupons!

 2. There is no minimum amount to spend.

 3. You can double a total of 5 coupons. Customers may not double more than one of the same coupon.

#3 is pretty vague - it doesn't state if it's 5 coupons per day, per transaction or just 5 for the whole week.  Typical of K-mart...I guess we will just have to wait and see if anyone can report back on Sunday.

If you don't already have the K-mart rewards card, I would just wait and apply in store when you go to shop.  They will give you your new card immediately and you won't have to wait for the snail mail.  Since the Super Doubles sale seems to be linked to the rewards card - why not apply for more than one card?  You would then be able to do multiple transactions and double coupons in increments of 5's.  I already have two cards - one in my name and one in my husband's name.  I plan on shopping every day at the doubles sale since the store is just minutes away from my son's school.

FREE Kiss Nail Accents (with overage!)

Coupons.com has a printable coupon for $2.00 off any Kiss artificial nail product.  Wal-mart has the Kiss Nail Accents flexible stickers for $1.87.  I picked up a couple of these today and will go back and get some more soon.  They are really cute flowery decals.  Just perfect for summertime coming up!  They also have some rhinestones for $2.97 which were really cute also.  The coupon beeps and the cashier has to push it through when the register prompts "valid coupon amount?" so choose your cashier wisely.  These were  a little hard to locate at my store, they weren't right with the other Kiss nail products, so look down toward the floor/bottom row by the other nail decals.

(If you can't find this coupon under your zip code, try zip code 63366 - that's where I found them!)

FREE Mighty Dog canned dog food (with overage!)

You can get some FREE Mighty Dog canned dog food with a tad bit of overage at Wal-mart.  There were several coupons in the 3/28 SS for Mighty Dog.  The cans of Mighty Dog at my Wal-mart are .58 each.  One of the coupons is for $3.00 off 5 cans.  5 cans at Wal-mart costs $2.90, so for every 5 cans you "buy" you get .10 in overage in addition to the 5 FREE cans of dog food.  You can also use the coupon for a FREE can at the same time and score more FREE cans of dog food.  I don't have a dog, but I can't pass up anything that's FREE (especially when there's overage involved!) so I picked up 48 cans today to donate to my favorite animal shelter - Animal House Animal Shelter in Huntley, IL.

The coupon does stop and the cashier has to push it through.  The message "valid coupon amount?" shows up on the screen.  Choose your cashier wisely!
