After being so ho-hum for a couple weeks, Walgreens has finally thrown us deal seeking couponers a bone! There are some really great freebies from Walgreens listed over at the Common Sense With Money blog. In addition to this list, you can also score some FREE Purex laundry detergent and make some money on Nivea lip balm.
Purex laundry detergent is on a MegaSaver sale this whole month B1G1F, so they are priced at $5.99 for TWO. There's a B1G1F coupon (up to $7) in the 2/21 RP (expires 3/6). Combine the B1G1F coupon with the B1G1F sale and buy NONE and get TWO FREE (pay tax, of course!)! Purex has several scents/varieties and there is even a "free & clear" version for those with allergies. You may have to check around at a couple different Wags to find these, they were already out of stock at my "regular" Wags so I had to try another store while I was on my way to Jewel today.
The Nivea lip balm turns out to be a great money maker this week. In the 2/7 RP there's a B1G1F (up to $3.99) coupon (expires 3/7) for Nivea lip balm. If you have the weekly sale flyer handy, you will see a Wags store coupon for Nivea lip balm for .99. Pick up two (or more if you get multiple inserts) and be sure to have the cashier scan the manufacturer coupon first, then have them scan the Wags coupon at the end. Depending on which lip balm you choose, the Wags coupon will take off $2 or $3 for each lip balm you have on your receipt. It takes off the $2 or $3 even on the one you got for free with the manufacturer coupon - see why it's so important to always scan the manufacturer coupons first? So, in addition to some free lip balm you are going to score some overage ($2-$3 per each set of TWO that you buy). Make sure you have enough in your cart to use up all the overage on these so that you aren't stuck at the register throwing in just anything to use it up.
Happy Shopping!
