I am not a big "Black Friday" shopper, I just can't stand the crowds and the lines. To me, it's just not worth it to get up before the rooster crows to save a buck. My sleep is way too precious to me! Sometimes I will stop by one or two stores on Black Friday but it's never at the moment that the doors open.
If you are interested, my frugal friend Dawn sent me this link to all the Black Friday ads in one place. Go here to click on the stores of your choice to see their sale ad for the big day.
If you are a Black Friday shopper - I wish you luck! I am only planning to stop at Walgreens to take advantage of some of the freebies after RR's there and since their sale starts on the 25th I may even stop by there on Thursday.
NOTE: My frugal friend Melissa left a comment that I think you should check out, she has a great strategy for shopping on Black Friday! Thanks for your tip, Melissa! Do you have a tip you think everyone would benefit from? Leave a comment with your Black Friday shopping advice!
I love black Friday! I'm always out of the house by 3 a.m. I usually don't even go to sleep on Thanksgiving! ...... I have found out in the past that alot of stores will honor other stores black Friday ads. There are a few restrictions, but 2 years ago I got what I wanted to buy from Target and Walmart at the Belvidere Shopko! They had a lot of stock because it wasn't Shopkos promotion. I wrote down everything I wanted then called Shopko 1st before I went there to make sure they had what I wanted and would honor Target and Walmarts ad.
ReplyDeleteThat's GREAT advice Melissa! Thanks for sharing your strategy - I updated the post so that everyone can benefit from your advice.
ReplyDeleteI love Black Friday, but not the crowds...so I shop in my pj's. Most stores will also have their black friday stuff online (some even activate it after midnight of Thanksgiving). I usually just set my alarm (as well as follow the black friday website) and then wake up, turn on the computer and do my shopping, then go back to bed. Now..not all of the doorbusters are always available, but a good amount of them are.
ReplyDeleteMore great advice Renea - That's my kind of shopping! I might just try shopping at midnight on Thanksgiving from the comfort of my desk!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe website you posted about Black Friday ads is a great one to follow. They will tell you when they think an ad will go "live". You just keep checking back and it will either say "going live at x time" or "live now". I believe there were even a few stores that had stuff active the morning (wee hours) of Thanksgiving day!
