Each month, Nu-Way Systems Carpet Dyeing & Cleaning mails out a newsletter and has a trivia challenge to win two free movie tickets. If you are one of the first 10 to call with the correct answer you win. The answer to the trivia challenge is usually in the newsletter.
The newsletter arrived in today's mail. If you want a shot at the tickets, call 815-765-0005 and tell them the answer to the trivia challenge is PARIS. The question is: What city was Ernest Hemingway living in when he came up with his Iceberg Theory on writing? Why not sign up to receive the newsletter while you have them on the phone? If they ask how you heard about it, just tell them you heard about the newsletter from a friend. This company cleans carpets all over Northern IL so if you live in the general area you should be have a shot at this.
Last month I called and won. The best thing is that it wasn't just 2 movie tickets. It was a $25 gift card to AMC theaters. That $25 gift card got two adults and a very happy child in to see Toy Story 3, and there was enough left over to buy a large popcorn! Our OOP on Sunday for the movie was .75!
Hurry, what are you waiting for?
By the way, we had our carpets cleaned by Nu-Way about 3 years ago and they did a great job! :)

July Printables - New and Reset
Since it's the first of the month, Coupons.com, Redplum.com and Smartsource.com have added new coupons and reset some of the printables that have been up for awhile. Head on over and check out what's new. Grab any new good ones now so you don't miss out on any deals!
ALL YOU Reality Checker - FREE Clothes!
If you haven't already signed up to be a "Reality Checker" at All You magazine you need to go here and apply now! Don't wait any longer. The clothing I am wearing in this photo was delivered to my door by Fed-Ex this morning courtesy of All You for being a Reality Checker - completely FREE. All I have to do is try the pants and shirt out and review them when All You sends me a follow up e-mail in about a week.
These pants and shirt are both Riders by Lee brand and are from the "Instantly Slims You" line. The shirt is black with a no gap bustline (hidden snaps), slenderizing princess seams and a waist defining silhouette. The retail value of this shirt is $14.00. The pants (which I LOVE!) are stretch fabric, have a slimming tummy control panel and sit below the natural waist. They have a flat front with pockets and also have pockets on the back. They are straight leg. The retail value of the pants is $18.00. They are both "easy care fabric" which means no ironing (which is surely not my favorite thing to do).
I received an e-mail from All You about a week or two ago asking if I would like to participate in a review of these clothes, or a pair of jeans. I filled out a short questionnaire (with sizes and preferences) and received an e-mail telling me that I was approved within a day or two. A couple days later they arrived.
The only thing I can't figure out is why they would send long pants and a long sleeve shirt in the middle of summer for a review? :{
I have reviewed Starbucks Coffee for All You magazine and I am currently waiting to hear if I am chosen to review a new home air freshener. As a Reality Checker you may also be featured in an issue of the magazine if you submit a great frugal tip or tidbit of info that they like.

Jewel 6/28
If you are planning a Jewel trip soon there's few items you might want to add to your list.
There's not much in the way of Catalina promos running right now, but the month long June Dairy Month Catalina promo is winding down so if there's anything else you wanted to stock up on, grab it before the sale ends on 7/1. Thanks to this promo I don't think I can go back to drinking non-organic milk. I have really enjoyed the Horizon organic milk through out this whole month. I think that I will continue to buy organic milk now, deal or no deal. I save so much in other areas that I think I can splurge on something as tasty and healthy as organic milk. Their marketing strategies worked on me! :)
Fisher Fusion Snacks are on sale right now for $1.29 per bag, use the MANY $1.00 coupons from 12/6 SS & 12/13 SS (both expire 6/30), 2/7 SS, 2/28 SS and 6/20 SS to make these .29 a bag, not bad for a tasty treat.
There's a 10 for $10 with the 11th item free sale going on right now, I didn't see many great deals with coupons but some products are a good price with this sale, if you need them. To see the full ad with all products check out the Jewel online ad here. I always stock up on the Banquet Brown 'n Serve breakfast sausages when they are part of this sale. With the 11th one free these come to .90 a box.
Hefty Zoo Pals paper plates and cups are a big hit in our house and if I can find a good price on them I buy them for those nights when I just don't feel like doing dishes. These are on sale right now 2/$4. If you use the $1.00 off TWO coupon from the 5/16 RP they end up being $1.50 per package and that's as cheap as they usually go.
There are some patriotic Solo paper plates, cups and napkins that are on sale for $1.50 each. Pair this sale with the $1.00 coupon in the 6/20 SS for a final price of .50 each. These were a bit hard to find at my store, I eventually located them in the produce department. They are a special buy and in a cardboard stand alone display.
Hot dog and hamburger buns are on sale for .88 just in time for Independence Day grilling.
Blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are on sale for $1.48 a pint. That's a really good price on fresh berries.
Jewel has soda on sale ,4-12 packs for $9.00 with your preferred card. You can use the $1.00 off 3 coupon I mentioned in this week's Wags deals or you can use WT's for an even better deal. I picked up 4 mixed variety 12 packs and used 4-$2.00 off "mixer" WT's to get 4-12 packs of sodas for $1.00. I like this deal a little better than the Wags deal this week because there are more varieties that are part of this sale and there's no RR's involved. I didn't have any problems using 4 WT's in one transaction on this, but you may want to choose your cashier wisely for this one.
Remember to make some room in the freezer for the ice cream Catalina promo starting 7/1. I haven't seen a UPC list available yet, but I am hoping this one is as good as the last ice cream Catalina sale.
Happy Shopping!

End of Month - Printables
Just a friendly reminder that the end of the month is almost here. Make sure you check Coupons.com, Smartsource.com and Redplum.com and print any coupons that you have been meaning to grab before they are gone. Printables change on the first of the month, some disappear and new ones appear. Make a point to check it on 7/1 for any good new coupons!

Walgreens 6/27 - 7/3
Walgreens is scheduled for a mid week, 4 day sale running 6/30 - 7/3 for Independence Day. You can see the 4 day sale flyer here, just scroll down on this week's ad and you will see it at the end.
Here's the best deals that I could find for this week's ad: 6/27 - 7/3 (not including 4 day sale)
* Airplus Socks - $3.00 each, with a $3 RR = FREE after RR, no current coupons, as of this morning this RR was not printing so be watchful when you purchase these that you do get your RR (look for these near the cosmetics department, some stores have them on an endcap)
* Blistex Fruit Smoothies Lip Balm - $2.99 each, with a $3 RR = FREE after RR, no current coupons (look for these by the pharmacy by the lip care items, also keep your eyes open for the bonus packs that have 4 lip balms - it's being reported that this one also produces the RR).
* Flexitol Blistop - $5.00 each, with a $5 RR = FREE after RR, no current coupons (look for these near the cosmetics department in the foot care area)
* Finesse products - $3.99 B1G1 - use two $1.00 off coupons from 5/16 SS and pay $1.99 for TWO, send in for the $3.00 rebate also in the 5/16 SS and this becomes a $1.01 MM for TWO Finesse products.
* Reach floss and toothbrushes are .99 each - if you haven't already used up all your $1.00 Reach coupons these would be FREE with .01 in overage. There are MANY Reach coupons in past inserts, too many to list here, check CouponTom for a complete list.
* Pepsi products, 12 packs - 4/$13.00, with a $5 RR = 4/$8 - my frugal friend Tara said she found a $1.00 off 3 Pepsi product manufacturer coupon in the Sullivans and Pacemaker flyers to make these 4/$7 or $1.75 per 12 pack. If you have any WT's for "mixers" you should be able to use those on this deal also.
* Dentyne Gum - 3/$1.98, use three $1.00 coupons from the 6/13 SS and stack that with the .99 off 3 coupon from the new monthly coupon booklet. Make sure to hand over the manufacturer coupons first and you will turn this into a small MM!
That's about all I see as really great deals this week at Wags. I know it doesn't seem like much, but since there aren't many manufacturer coupons to line up with this sale, this is a good week to take some RR's and roll them into a new RR deal to extend your expiration dates - even if you don't NEED the stuff. No "fillers" necessary. Since neither Wags nor Jewel have had much going on it's nice to be able to give yourself some wiggle room on your expiration dates and extend them a little longer in hopes of something good soon.
Don't forget to grab a new monthly coupon booklet while you are in the store, you never know what kind of deals we will see later in July and those coupons might come in handy.
Looking ahead to the 4 day sale, there's a few more products that look promising. I am planning a trip on Wednesday so if my plans work out as I hope, I will post my best deals from the 4 day sale later in the week.

Summertime Fun!
As of Monday, according to the calendar, summer officially arrived and we have been enjoying every minute of it at our house!
As you can see by our recent activities, we like to spend loads of time outside and in the water. Since this is our son's last summer before starting full-time school I am trying to enjoy and savor every moment with him, come August 18th I am really going to miss him!
With that being said, you may notice a decrease in posts from me during these lazy days of summer. Water and computers just don't mix well! :) I just realized today that I missed posting the Walgreens deals for this week - I have good intentions when the day starts, but as you can see, some things take priority. I know all you mom's out there can relate and understand where I am coming from.
I will still be shopping, and I am still here if you need a UPC list, have a great deal, frugal tip or questions...always feel free to send me an e-mail or text, call, whatever. I am always glad to hear from you, anytime of the day or night. I will keep posting deals that I think are really awesome, I just may miss a few things here and there. All the links to the great money saving blogs on the sidebar will help keep you up to date with the weekly deals and you won't miss a thing. You can always come here for your links to the printable coupons too.
I have lots of plans for upgrades and new additions to this blog. Once summer wanes and school starts again, I should have more time then to work on making these changes and posting deals more regularly. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for what you would like to see here please send them to me so I can incorporate them into my plans. I want to make this the first place you come to get your deals for the week.
I hope you have plans to relax, have fun and enjoy summer!
Reminder: Rebate Deadline - Swiffer Refills
This is just a friendly reminder for the Swiffer Refill Rebate. If you were planning on sending in $20 in receipts for the $10 rewards card, your receipts need to be dated by June 30th - that's next Wednesday. The submission has to be postmarked by 7/30/2010.
I am a little behind on this one, I only have $4.99 toward my $20. Does anyone see a great deal on any Swiffer refills so I can get another $15.01 in receipts? I have all the Swiffer products (and LOVE them!) so any refills would be great - although I am stocked on everything!

$5 Toy Story T-shirts @ Wal-mart
Boy am I glad that Old Navy was out of stock on the $8 Toy Story t-shirts that were advertised in their ad. I went to get them and apparently they flew off the shelves over the last weekend and there were none left. At the time, I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get one for my son who is a HUGE Toy Story fan.
While we were at Wal-mart today picking up a few essentials I wandered past the boys department just to see if there was anything good on clearance. Not much that I could find on clearance, BUT they had Toy Story t-shirts for only $5.00 each! You could imagine how happy my son was. Of course he got to pick out his favorite character, Mr. Potato-head, so he is happy as a clam.
If you know of a Toy Story fan, head over to Wal-mart. They were stocked with many different colors and characters, and they had quite a few so finding the size you need shouldn't be a problem either.

Upcoming Catalina Promo - Ice Cream
I scream...you scream...we all scream for ICE CREAM! There's another ice cream Catalina promo in the works for 7/1 thru 7/7 at Jewel. Spend $12 get $4 OYNO - just like last time. This appears to be a national Catalina promo running at different dates for each chain - if I remember correctly that's how it ran last time too. There's no list yet, but when I get one I will be sure to update this post. Once I have it I will be happy to share it with you. We are still working on finishing up the ice cream included in the last Catalina promo, but I KNOW I can always find room for more ice cream! :)

Jewel Coupon Policy Clarification
In my post for this week's Jewel deals I also posted this:
One last bit of info that I found out today, Jewel will no longer be allowing the use of coupons when the value is greater than the value of the item. They will no longer reduce the value of the coupon to the price of the item. You won't be able to use the coupon on that item. As an example, today I used the $1.00 off Scotch Brite coupon on .99 sponges. This will no longer be allowed. One of the really nice customer service reps was helping me at the USCAN today and told me that just came out in a memo to all the stores yesterday. She let my coupons fly today, but it won't be allowed any longer. Go quickly and get those sponges before all the cashiers get the memo!! :) (I almost felt like I was in Wal-mart instead of Jewel!)
I wanted to get some clarification on this for all of us. Barb over at CW is the Jewel expert. When it comes to ANYTHING Jewel related she is the go to person. I sent her a message over at CW asking if she knew anything about this change in coupon policy and this is what she explains:
"I was told that by the CSR...but then she GAVE ME a copy of the policy and it wasn't in there. I am guessing it may be in the paperwork they actually sign?
The CSR and I also discussed that on the Jewel side for items that scan higher then have a preferred price those types of coupons don't beep so the cashiers should allow them as they are to scan all coupons (without inspecting them) and only question what beeps.
Waiting to see how it plays out. Thanks for letting me know you heard it too.
I bought 56 Stayfree yesterday...$1.99 but they SCAN $3.49 with $1.50 preferred so none of the 56 $2/1 coupons beeped."
Hopefully this is actually how it will play out at the register, we can only wait and see. Please report back if you have an experience that proves or disproves this scenario. (Oh My Goodness!! Did she say 56 Stayfree?!?! That's A LOT of pads!)

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! Dad's are so important in our lives and our children's lives - keep up the great work!
What are you doing today for the special Dad in your life? We are heading to the Kane County Cougars game today. We purchased tickets at our son's school dinner auction fundraiser and got a great deal on them! This is our first Cougars game so we are all very excited about it. Dad's and kids get to play catch on the field before the game. I hope the rain holds out and the game doesn't get cancelled.

Additional Deals: Jewel 6/17 - 6/23
I stopped at Jewel today since I was right in the area picking up my purchases from The Radio Shopping Show and I wanted to highlight a few deals that I grabbed while I was there since it's such a slow week with Catalina promos.
* Driscoll's Strawberries are $3.99/lb. B1G1 - look for WT's on Ketel One Vodka for $2.00 off produce or any mixer to make these $1.99 for TWO (or give it a try using TWO WT's and get both FREE if your store lets you use TWO WT's). I stocked up because I am making more strawberry freezer jam!
* Aqua Pods are part of the 10 for $10 sale - use the 5/16 RP coupon for $1.00 off TWO and get these for .50 each.
* Oreo Fudge Cream cookies are on sale for $1.69 - use the $1.00 off coupon in the May AY to get these for .69.
* Goldfish crackers are part of the 10 for $10 sale - ALL varieties of the Goldfish are part of this so if you printed the .75 off coupon for the Grahm Goldfish from Coupons.com that was available you can get these for .25 each, if you printed the .35 coupon for the regular Goldfish also available at Coupons.com you can get these for .65 each.
* Scotch Brite sponges are on sale for .99 each - use the $1.00 off .pdf coupon to get these FREE. If you need the coupon send me a note, I have it saved and can e-mail it to you.
* Coke 2 L bottles are part of the 10 for $10 sale - use the tearpads that I mentioned here to get these for FREE.
* Cole's breadsticks and garlic bread are one sale $3.49 each/B1G1 - go here and sign up to print TWO .50 off coupons to get TWO packages for $2.49. If you printed these before you should be able to print them again, it reset. Just enter all your info again and it will take you to the coupon.
* Dannon Dan-o-nino yogurt is on sale 2/$4 and part of the June Dairy Month Catalina Promo - use the $1.50 off coupon from 6/6 SS to turn this into a MM. Buy 5 for $2.00 each, use 5 $1.50 off coupons, pay $2.50 and receive back a $5 OYNO Catalina.
* Dean's dips are part of the June Dairy Month Catalina promo even though they are not on the UPC list. They are on sale for $1.99 each. There's a $1.00 off TWO coupon here. Make sure you buy a combination of 5 dairy items to get the Catalina.
* Land-O-Lakes spreadable butters are part of the June Dairy Month Catalina promo. Go here to sign up and print .55 coupons for this butter. The coupons make the butter a great deal, remember you need to buy 5 items to get the $5 OYNO Catalina coupon.
* Jewel e-mailed out a coupon for $2.00 off any purchase of fresh pork of $4.00 or more (valid 6/17-6/23). If you don't have this coupon send me a note and I can e-mail it to you. There are WT's out on Paso Creek wine for $1.00 off beef or pork ribs and a $3.00 ribs rebate WT on Gnarly Head wine. The pork back ribs are on sale for 4.99/lb - not that great of a sale on it's own but when you combine the $2 store coupon, the $1.00 WT and the $3.00 rebate you can get a slab of ribs pretty cheap.
Don't forget to get rainchecks if your store is out of stock on any of the sale items!
Report Card: The Radio Shopping Show
When I posted about The Radio Shopping Show here, I was anxious to give it a try and see what it was like. After listening for awhile to see how it works and signing up for a "key tag" I thought I should give it a whirl.
I was very interested in Legoland (Schaumburg, IL) tickets since we were planning a trip there with some friends very soon. I found these tickets on The Radio Shopping Show for $8.00 each - the normal admission price to get in is $19.95. I called up during the show and had them added to my bin. Since they were having a Road Show very soon nearby I thought I would save myself the $2.00 service fee for a credit card mail order (CCMO) and pick them up.
When I went to pick up my tickets I had decided that I also wanted to get tickets to Anderson Japanese Gardens (Rockford, IL). Regular admission price to get in is $7.00 for an adult but on The Radio Shopping Show I was able to get these tickets discounted for the price of $3.50 each.
It just so happened that the day I choose to pick up my purchases there was a special running. Each shopper that purchased $30 or more and picked up their order on Friday or Saturday got a "Mystery Envelope" which could contain a dining certificate, Radio Shopping Show CASH or even a hotel getaway including a three night Florida Vacation package. I ended up with a $10 certificate for a restaurant.
Picking up the tickets was really easy, once I found where I was supposed to go. They were hidden a bit among all the other activities in the area where they were. There were no signs directing listeners where to go, and since this was my first time I had no idea what to look for. After I finally found them, the transaction went smoothly and was very quick.
I am very happy with my purchases, after all I got $103.80 in tickets & dining certificates for only $39.00! What a deal! I give The Radio Shopping Show an A+! Head on over and check it out!

Sample Showcase Blog Feature!
This morning I received an e-mail to take a survey about the Sample Showcase that I received awhile back from the USPS. I like to take these surveys so that these companies know we are interested in continuing to receive these great samples and coupons and that we really appreciate them.
After I took the survey, I was directed to a "thank you" page that shows a compilation of what the survey results are so far. As I kept reading the page, I noticed that on the right side there was a box where certain money saving blogs that mentioned the Sample Showcase were being highlighted. I saw a couple blogs that I recognize and ones that I regularly read (Money Saving Mom, Deal Seeking Mom)...and then this one came up! I was shocked to see it! I couldn't believe that my little blog was featured here - what a nice surprise! Here's a link so you can take a look.

WRMN 1410 AM - The Radio Shopping Show!
I never thought of myself as an AM radio listener, give me the good old Rock-n-Roll station anytime and I am happy. Lately, I find myself listening to WRMN 1410 AM, The Radio Shopping Show. This show is GREAT! For the past week that's ALL I have been listening to when I am driving around.
You can tune in at 1410 AM on your radio or you can check it out at their website. In order to shop on The Radio Shopping Show you sign up FREE online and get what's called a "key tag" number, you can see what offers they have available and then check for the times that the show is airing. You call in, place your order by giving your key tag number. It's that easy! You can pick up your order at their redemption center or you can do a credit card mail order (CCMO) and pay $2 to have your order mailed to you.
This station is for the Elgin/Chicago area, but if you check their site you can find The Radio Shopping Show on other stations around the country. All the stations are listed right there.
There are local offers in Northern IL as well as distant travel destinations. I found a restaurant certificate for a restaurant in our dinky little town just by searching our town name in the search page. There are offers for the Wisconsin Dells, Lake Geneva, Legoland, oil changes, dining, mini golf, water parks, etc - anything you can think of. From what I can tell they update the offers often.
These items listed are offered for 50-70% or more off their face value. Just as an example, the restaurant in my town was a $10 lunch certificate selling for just $4!! WOW!
I just signed up for my "key tag" and should get it in the mail shortly, I can't wait to try it out. Thanks, Dawn!

Jewel 6/17 - 6/23
Wouldn't you know it, the week that I have about $150 in RR's and Catalina coupons Jewel decides to have an off week!
There's not much coming up at Jewel this next week. They have one Catalina promo starting with General Mills products. Spend $20 in participating products and get 50 Bonus Box Tops for your school. Hmmm, no OYNO Catalina? Couldn't they at least give us $5? I think I will be sitting this one out. There's no UPC list available right now, so as soon as I have it I will update this post.
The June Dairy Month Catalina promo is still going on thru 7/1. Purchase 5 participating dairy products and receive $5 OYNO. If you need the UPC list send me a note and I'd be happy to forward it to you. UPC list is courtesy of CW.
One thing that I thought I should note here, I noticed that 2L bottles of Coke will be going on sale 10 for $10 starting 6/17. When I was at Woodman's today I picked up some tear pad coupons that are going to work great for this. They are $1.00 off a 2L bottle of Coke! I found these in the liquor department on a Jack Daniels display. The coupon just states Coke, so I am not sure if you could use them on Diet Coke, but it might be worth a try. Stop over at Woodman's or look around at your favorite store's liquor department and see if you can snag some of these before you head to Jewel to score some FREE Coke.

FREE Science Diet Dog Treats @ PetSmart!
I just LOVE, love, love PetSmart for coupon shopping. They have been the most wonderful store to use coupons at. I have never had any problems, they welcome coupon usage and always give the overage - even knowingly! The cashiers are always the first ones to tell me what a great job I did using coupons and sometimes they even give me additional coupons to use when I am at the register. That's the way all cashiers should be!
Here's a way to make your pup or the animal shelter pups VERY happy this week. The New Science Diet Simple Essentials Treats are on sale this week with your Pet Perks card for $2.50 a bag. These are pretty large size bags at 12-14 oz each. There are $3.00 off coupons in the 6/13 SS or printable here. Just click on "Save $3 Now" when you get there. You will need to sign up for the coupons, but it's worth it! You should get .50 overage for each one that you buy because the coupons did not beep. I found these in the aisle at the front of the store with the dog treats/biscuits and the sale is supposed to go thru 6/20.
I was able to use my overage to buy some things that we needed for our aquarium and a new African Frog for the aquarium that my son has been asking for. So, not only did I make some pups at the animal shelter happy, I also made my son happy. I love it when it works out that way!
As a side note, the employees at PetSmart have always been very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about everything that I have had questions about. That makes shopping there even better!

FREE New York Style Snacks @ Woodman's!
If you are heading to Woodman's, grab the 3/28 SS coupons for New York Style products. There are two of them, but the way it's printed you can only actually redeem it for one or the other. The bagel chips are on sale for .89 and the Risotto chips are on sale for .99. The shelf wasn't tagged with the sale prices, but they are on sale. Since there was no sale tag I can't tell you how long this sale is running. :( These are in by the crackers, not by the chips - at my store it was aisle 5.
I was interested in what these chips taste like so I opened one of the bags that I grabbed today. They are very similar to Sun Chips in taste and texture. I like that they have 11 grams of whole grains per serving!
You may luck out and get some overage on this one since the coupon for the Risotto chips is for $1.25 off. I wasn't so lucky today because the cashier reduced the amount of the coupon to .99.
I did, however, luck out in the liquor department with WT's!! YAY! That's better than that small amount of overage anyway.

Strawberry Freezer Jam
We picked fresh strawberries at the end of last week and had just enough to make one full batch of strawberry freezer jam. This recipe is the BEST for strawberry jam. It's extremely easy, tasty and cost effective. Since we don't usually see many good deals or coupons on jellies or jams, I find it enjoyable to stock the freezer with this yummy treat while the berries are in season.
Here's the pectin that I use:
It costs about $1.00 and some change at Wal-mart for the packets. Here's how easy it is:
Wash fresh picked strawberries and cut off the stems and any soft/dark spots. If you have some berries that aren't quite ripe yet you can still use them - the sugar added to the recipe will off set any tart berries you have. Rinse under cool water and let drain in a colander while getting the other ingredients ready.
Mix together 1-1/2 cups sugar and the packet of pectin in a medium to large bowl. Crush strawberries in blender/smoothie maker until you have 4 cups of crushed strawberries. You can decide the consistency level you prefer. I make mine with little to no chunks of strawberry left. Mix the dry ingredients with the crushed strawberries for 3 minutes.

Pour into freezer safe containers. I use small Rubbermaid containers with screw on lids (that I got FREE @ K-mart double coupon sale!). Let sit for 30 minutes and then freeze. Soooo easy! Use within 1 year for peak freshness, use within 6 weeks once defrosted.
I will do this several times during the peak of strawberry season so that we have enough to last us the whole year. I like to make extras so that I can share it with family, friends and neighbors. You can also use other fruits and berries at their peak freshness. Last year I found an awesome deal on peaches and mangoes at a local Hispanic market so I made peach-mango freezer jam and it was de-lish! Get creative, the directions on the packaging will walk you though the recipe for different varieties.
Let me know if you try it and how it goes...Enjoy!

Nivea Active 3 Body Wash MM @ Wags!
This is a great week for MM's at Wags! The Men's Active 3 Nivea Body Wash is on sale for $5.99 with a $6 RR from 6/13 - 6/19. Use the $3.00 Nivea coupon from the 5/2 RP to make $3.00 on each one that you purchase.
As a side note, I had an upsetting conversation with one of my fave Wags cashiers today. I was surprised to see that they only had 2 bottles of this body wash on the shelf on the first day of the sale, especially since one of the other cashiers told me that there were 48 bottles just yesterday! She proceeded to tell me about this tag team husband and wife, or boyfriend and girlfriend, that have started coming into my store on Sunday mornings. They work in tandem and do about 4 transactions each and then leave the store. After a short while, they come back and repeat. She said they had about 30 of these $3.00 coupons this morning and cleared out most of the Nivea body wash. She said that they have been doing this every week with the FARR or MM's at Wags.
This is upsetting to me because, as someone who is trying to make ends meet, I see this as the end of something good. These are the types of people that ruin it and take advantage of something to the point that they abuse it. My cashier commented something to the effect that the store manager would start putting limits on the FARR's. What a shame that would be! I will admit that I take advantage of these sales, but I have NEVER walked into a store and cleared a shelf on the first day of the sale. I spread out my transactions over a week's time, or over several different stores. There's no sense in being so greedy that you have to do something like this and ruin a good thing. I KNOW that none of my blog readers would do this, and I am proud of that, but I wanted to let you know that if you shop at "my" store you may find that the shelves are cleared bare if you don't get there at the crack of dawn Sunday mornings.

Neutrogena MM @ Wags 6/13 - 6/19
Remember the easy, peasy Neutrogena MM that I posted about here? Well, this week it just got better! Neutrogena products are on sale this week for 25% off AND there's Neutrogena coupons in the 6/13 SS. This means that the bar soap deal that I posted turns out to be a bigger MM! It also means that there's many other scenarios you can use to come out ahead on Neutrogena products. With the 25% off sale many of the products are reduced enough after sale and coupons to be FREE and a MM after RR!
Some stores have low or no stock on the bars so you may need to get creative with the other Neutrogena products. I was lucky enough to find a store today that was opening up the 3 bar boxes and tagging them for individual sale. They even had a sign on the table in front of the bars showing that they were a MM after RR. I am also very lucky to have a mom that shops at Dominick's grocery stores and scored me MANY of the coupon booklets that had the $1.50 off ANY Neutrogena product...let's just say today was a GREAT Walgreens day for me! :) I hope you have some great luck with this sale also!

FREE Purex On-the-Go @ Wags!
Some Walgreens stores have these Purex On-the-Go packages for .99. There's two Purex Complete 3-in-1 sheets in these packages. If you see these Purex On-the-Go packages at your store, go here and print the $1.00 off coupon so you can get these FREE with .01 overage. Make sure you print the coupon twice per computer. There's also a coupon for $1.00 off a full size Purex Complete 3-in-1 inside the package!

Priceless!
I try to keep my posts on this blog related to saving money and great deals. Today I didn't get a great deal on strawberries. They were $1.50 per pound and we had to pick them ourselves. Not much value there since the strawberries were on the small side.
Sometimes, it's not about what you are paying money for, but the experience that goes along with it. This is the first time our son, Dylan, went strawberry picking and we went with our good friends Beth, Camille, Jonas and Jonathan. We had lots of fun!
Even though it was overcast and 101% humidity, even though we had to pick the strawberries ourselves and endure the prickly weeds (Dylan calls them "bad guys"), and even though it started sprinkling on us, this experience was priceless to me. I would have paid $5.00 a pound for it!
Strawberry Picking with Great Friends = $Priceless!
The experience didn't stop when we left Susie's Garden Patch, Dylan and I are going to make strawberry freezer jam with our harvest. We will share this together and make this an even richer experience than it started out to be.

Catalina Machines at Target Stores
My frugal friend Katie sent me an e-mail yesterday telling me that she spotted Catalina machines at the Target store that she shops at in Machesney Park, IL. Slowly, all Target stores are adding Catalina machines at the registers. I believe the Super Target stores are going to get them first.
Keep your eyes open for these when you check out when shopping at Target stores, and make sure the cashier hands you your coupons. From what I have heard they have been coupons for $X.XX off certain products, I have not heard any reports of getting $X.XX OYNO Catalinas, but I wonder if this will replace the current Target gift card offers that Target runs, once all the stores have the machines in place. Wouldn't that be great? Then we would have more Catalina coupons to spend over at Jewel! Wishful thinking...
I hope you remember your re-useable shopping bags when you shop at Target also, you get a .05 bag credit for each one you use.

FREE Pampers Wipes with Overage!
I just love competition between manufacturers! Since we recently had all those Huggies wipes printable coupons (no longer available), Pampers decided that they needed to do the same. In the 6/6 PG there's a $2.00 off coupon on Pampers wipes 60 count or larger.
I had been reading at several different money saving blogs that these should be free at Target and Wal-mart but when I checked over at Target in my area I was disappointed to see that the tubs were $2.39 each. I held onto my coupons and took them over to Wal-mart this afternoon. Over at Wal-mart there are two different packages on Rollback to $1.97. They had the standard Baby Fresh tubs and the Thick Care soft packages both with 72 wipes in each. My coupon friendly cashier was working today so I was lucky and scored .03 in overage on each one I purchased.
Even though my son has been out of diapers for quite sometime, we still use wipes - they are so convenient and easy to bring along when heading out to the park, zoo, farmer's market, anywhere really! My frugal friend Sandy sent me her extra coupons so I was able to get myself 9 packages and tubs! We are surely set on wipes for awhile between this and all those Huggies wipes! :)
If you are thinking about getting some of these for yourself, be sure to sign up for the Pampers Village and enter the codes inside the packages to bank points to redeem for prizes.

Jewel 6/10 thru 6/16
ConAgra sure is being generous lately with the Catalina promos! If you have any ConAgra coupons left you can use them starting on 6/10 for another new ConAgra Catalina promo running with Spend $25 get $10 OYNO. I have the UPC list, so if you need it let me know. The Wesson oil is always a super deal with this promo - it's on sale 2/$5 with a shelf price of 2/$10. Buy 5 Wesson oils, spend $12.50 and get back a Catalina coupon for $10 OYNO. That means your oil turns out to be $2.50 for 5 bottles, or .50 a bottle! That is surely a stock up price! This is just one of the many scenarios that can end in some great deals with this Catalina promo.
Don't forget to also save those receipts and turn them in for the ConAgra coupon booklet I mentioned here.
Don't forget about the June Dairy Month Catalina promo running now thru 7/1. Purchase 5 participating products and get $5 OYNO. I do have a UPC list for this promo and if you need it I will be happy to e-mail it to you, just let me know. One great scenario for the Dairy Catalina is the Land O Lakes Spreadable Butter on sale for $1.99 a tub. Use this coupon for .55 off to make them $1.44 a tub. Buy 5 for $7.20 pre-tax, using 5 coupons and receive a $5 OYNO Catalina coupon. That brings them down to $2.20 for 5 or .44 each! There's also a .55 coupon for Horizon Organic Milk here when you sign up at their website. Combine this coupon with your June Dairy Month transaction for a great deal on half gallons of organic milk which is normally very expensive. A BIG Thanks to my frugal friend Beth for pointing out those two coupons!
The Fav 4 meat sale is back again starting 6/10 - make room in the freezer to stock up on grilling meats!

FREE Nabisco Cookies!
Who doesn't love FREE cookies? Today only you can print a coupon on Facebook for one free package of Nabisco cookies wyb one gallon of milk and one package of Nabisco cookies. Just go here, log into Facebook and print! It's under the "Cookies & Milk" tab. You can print it twice per computer and you can log into your FB account on different computers and print it twice once again. The value of the coupon is up to $4.19.
The last time this coupon was available, I spotted a great deal over at Jewel. I needed Nilla Wafers for a recipe and the boxes of Nabisco Nilla Wafers had peelies on them for FREE bananas (up to $1.00). Scope out two of these boxes with peelies and grab a gallon of milk and two small bunches of bananas priced right around $1.00 each. One box and two small bunches of bananas will be FREE. I am not sure of the price on the Nilla Wafers right now, I did not see them in the Jewel sale flyer that ends 6/9.
The FB coupon doesn't expire until 6/25 so you have awhile to wait for these to go on sale to get the best deal possible. Combining the milk into the June Dairy Month Catalina promo with $5 OYNO for purchasing 5 participating dairy products would make this deal even sweeter or maybe some other stores also have the peelies on the boxes. Leave a comment and let us know if you find the peelies somewhere other than Jewel.

Garage Sale
Every so often I organize a "community garage sale" with neighbors up and down our road. We live way out in the country and there's not a lot of traffic in our area so in order to get shoppers out here we have to do some serious advertising. Advertising costs a lot of money, so I try to get as many neighbors as I can to participate and share in the costs of newsprint ads, signs and online ads.
The neighbors also volunteer to take care of the many tasks involved with running a successful garage sale such as copying flyers, making signs, putting up signs and taking them down when the sale is over so one person does not get stuck doing all the work. It really works out well and I highly recommend this community type garage sale to anyone thinking of having a sale.
We had our sale this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It was an extremely successful sale. There were loads of shoppers out in our area because we planned our sale for the same dates as the local school rummage sale. We cross advertised with the school so they sent shoppers out to us, and we sent shoppers to the school. It worked out really well.
If you have been couponing for any length of time, you surely know how fast you can build up a healthy stockpile and sometimes over-buy (I use the word "buy" loosely since we are talkin' freebies here) or have excess of things you just don't need (like those super Dulcolax and Nature's Bounty money makers not too long ago at Walgreens!). If you are anything like me, I can't pass up something that is FREE so I tend to go overboard with all the freebies and money makers.
I do share with my friends and family, and I donate loads of items to various organizations. Even with all that, there was still way too much stuff in my stockpile. I really needed to lighten the load!
I decided to give garage sale-ing my stockpile a try. I didn't put out things that I knew my family would use, unless I had an over-abundance of it (a-hem...body wash, lol!). I figured that I didn't have anything to loose and I would gain tons of stockpile storage space in my cabinets, closets and vanity so that I could keep going. It seemed like a win-win situation for me.
I kept everything very organized and clean, I didn't put out anything that was expired. Everything was individually priced so that I could keep track and there was no confusion. My prices were VERY reasonable, after-all I wanted this stuff to move. I priced most items at .50 or $1.00, but the more "expensive" items were $2-$3. Once I had it all out and set up I was in awe at how much I had accumulated over the past year of coupon shopping! And this was just all the "extras" or the stuff we just wouldn't or couldn't use. WOW!
I have to admit that before I opened the garage I was very apprehensive about how it would go. Would people think that I was a little crazy? Would they think I stole the stuff? Would any of my regular cashiers come to shop (gasp!)? I had no idea what people would think. When the sale started my mind was put to ease because the shoppers just loved it! They couldn't scoop the stuff up fast enough. I had so many people come back for more, even coming multiple days of the sale to purchase more. Some people would leave and get half way down the driveway and then turn around and come back for "just a few more things".
My tables emptied so fast that I had to "restock" my makeshift dollar store after the first evening. I had people asking me to go in the house to look for more of certain items! Some of the things that I thought would not sell did, like the blood glucose meters and the children's medicines. I even sold out of those ladies sunglasses from GraveyardMall!
Everyone was so nice, and I met some very interesting people. I heard many comments. Some asked if I worked for a distributor, some asked if I robbed a convenience store, some knew immediately when they walked in the door and asked if I was a couponer because they recognized the stash! One man pointed out that there's a flea market nearby that I should think about selling at because my prices were lower than the woman that sells the same items there. One woman asked if I was the lady that was on Good Morning America for a couponing and money saving segment.
I had a lot of fun and I am very happy with my profit for the three days that my sale was open - it was definitely worth my time! Time to start building my stockpile back up again!! :)

Home Depot Garden Club
Since gardening season is here in full swing I thought I would remind you about the Home Depot Garden Club.
When you sign up for the garden club you get FREE access to loads of gardening information - who couldn't use a little help in that area from time to time? If you can't find what you are looking for you can "ask the expert" and get an answer to your gardening question within 24 hours as a member.
As a member you can also use the "outdoor journal" where you can keep track of your plant tags and refer back to them all season, you can also document your garden by uploading photos of your beauties and see their progress.
You will have access to a searchable plant library and all sorts of plant care guides for tips to keep all those plants healthy.
The best part about the Home Depot Garden Club is that with each e-mail newsletter they send, there are coupons for gardening related items - something we don't see coupons for that often! If you join only for the coupons it's worth it!

Nivea Men's Body Wash MM @ Wags!
Yes, I know...I didn't NEED anymore body wash, but you know I just can't pass up FREE body wash with a MM! Thru 6/5 the men's Nivea Body Wash is on sale for $4.99 B1G1F. If you use TWO of the $3.00 off coupons from the 5/2 RP you get two FREE bottles of body wash with $1.01 in overage. Make sure you have extra items in your cart to use up that overage!
Neutrogena MM @ Wags - No Coupons Needed!
Here's a SUPER easy MM going on at Wags right now, with no clipping or printing necessary! There's a monthly Neutrogena $10 RR promo running 5/30 - 6/26 for buying 3 Neutrogena skin or sun care items. Walgreens sells individual bars of Neutrogena soap for $2.99 per bar (price may vary slightly by store). I found these right by all the other Neutrogena products, not by the bar soaps. These bars are considered skin care so these qualify for the $10 RR. Spend $8.97 (plus tax) OOP and get back a $10 RR. I made this work a little better for me by rolling my $8 RR from the Complete Contact Lens Solution MM last week into this deal. It's a great way to roll a soon expiring RR to give you some more wiggle room on your RR.
Easy, peasy! Lots of FREE "expensive" soap to pamper yourself with and a little overage to buy what you need. Since this is a month long RR promo we have plenty of time to have fun with this one! Maybe some new coupons (or a great sale) will come out soon to make this even sweeter?!?
